You'll recognice Basedhead's touch in this song fast. For The first nearly three minutes all we hear is a bit of background noise, water running and so on. Then comes a few hihats, then a simple bassline and so a short and extremely cool groovy beat that you'll feel to the bone if you've been listening concentrated all the way. Then there's almost silence again. And you have to wait more minutes for the next explosion. And you sit there screaming: 'Give me more!'. Then it comes back stronger! With splendid piano chords! And that's the story for this song in all it's 13 minutesiness. Funkky, Jazzy, Gr0oOvy and ambient all at once. Never boring. Not if you listen. It's not the mere technicality of Baseheads songs that keeps you lusting for more. It's the thourough and complete sound of them! All the samples are good and used well and they mix and blend so very very good. This song is a must have for all trackers.

This hard-core techno song is repeting from the second you start playing it and, well I'm not sure but, I don't think there's any variation in it worth waiting for... Also there's this woman screaming 'I'm In Love With You' all the way... Well, at least he hasn't used as many loops as it might at first sound like... The arrangement is in fact not that bad. Using a snare as a musical instrument is bit silly tho... Recommended only for hard-core fans of the style!

I very beautiful song with a strong and steady beat. Starts out with some great chord progression, but unfortunately stick to the same chords all the way through. The piano and synth sounds sound great. The piano tries to vary abit at the end and becomes quite 'fumbly'. This song will stay on my computer! I wanted to say that the song is tracked by semi-pro artist but there's too much repetion with only slight modifications along the way. The Samples used are of very high quality compared to size, and the song is neatly put together. The Bassline (the deepest bassound) is the only thing that doesn't sound complete. But for the rest of the song, I'll gladly look past it. Just listen to the piano. Worthy of a download!

Starts of with fast string/violin play, crossing to a fast piano rondo. And carries on with the extremely advanced and complex piano all the way through with strings in the background. It's not hard to believe that this guy is a classical pianist(and he is too!) when you hear the piano going as quick and realistic as it does. Musically a brilliant piece of music! And a pleasure to the ear it is. A must-have'n'hear for persons interrested in classical music. The technical side is the weak side (to use a strong expression), The samples aren't superb and leaves me wondering what this piece sounds like when performed in a live orchestra... It's tough to decide if technical means tracking skills or arrangement because those two are widely different. While the technicality tracker-wise isn't anything special, the arrangement is splendid. The way the instruments blend is very good and there's parts where the piano is strong and commanding while there's a small part where the piano is at a lower volume and is very careful only to come back for a powerful finale. I say again: A must-have for classical and piano interrested.

A slow moving tune with lazy beats and melodies. Good Background music but doesn't really hold my attention for over 6 minutes. Musically very modest. The beats are no less than excellent and drifts away lazily. Since I'm now listening through my new headset, I feel I must comment that this song is purely mono. Adding some panning would do much for this tune. A sure download for fans of the genre, but for others(me included) this gets far to boring and outright annoying in the end.

Ah, a long time since I heard this song. A beautiful and emotional composition by aRTy. Starts out with a beautiful piano, evolving into a grand section using a trumpet as a lead. Lots of changes throughout keeping the piece interresting all the way. aRTy was one of the composers I looked upon with respect(especially for this piece) when I was a newbie at tracking. Even after reviewing songs by Leviathan, LizardKing, Purple Motion and Jogeir Liljedahl it's an honour to review this song. :) The arrangement is very good. Samples aren't spectacular but used well to promote feelings when you hear this song. Listen to the bassline, it is very good. Hell, everything is good. Do me a favour and download this. A personal favourite of mine

The strings in the beginning are good, the acid samples(or whatever) fit with them well. The oncoming drums are good, and The piano is good. But after the beginning, the song isn't as interresting. A very good techno song even so. Samples are of standard mod quality. The arrangement is very good, particulary the intro is arranged well, and I was bit disappointed when it turned out to be just another techno song.

Starts out rather good and ambient sounding, but turns into a chaotic sounding dance song. Musically it has some rather good parts, but it sounds like a mash of techno/dance/ambient/hard-core. The arrangement is chaotic. The samples aren't too bad but sounds a bit false. The mash of so many styles is not a good mixture... But not a bad piece of music even so. It has its moments.

Starts out as a good and amusing chip-tune, then slows down for a second, before coming back at full pace as a rave song. A can't stand rave. But it's not too bad I s'pose. Some good changes and an interesting theme. Good arrangement. The chip sequences are excellent and, damn, I don't want to say this but; This is a good rave-song. Samples are suiting and of good quality.

A Leviathan song with only 10 hits? So I reviewed it... A slow tune with a lazy rhythm. It starts out beautifully and lazily drifts along with kind off jazzy leads that are so beautiful I can't really explain it. At first the song struck me as a bit boring, but the melody grows on you. A very good song from a scene legend. Every sample is beautiful and used in a very convincing and realistic way. The piano and the guitars sound so perfect. I really can't do this song justice with my words. Get it.

I spotted this song on my list and decided to review it. The remix of this old Final Fantasy song isn't all that complicated. RabiteMan (whom I look upon as a much better tracker than what he displays here) has used one single tinkle-bell sound and added a lot of extra notes to the melody. Some nice dynamics in the end too. Oooh! A tinkle-bell sound that sounds fairly good. And that's all... I can mention again those nice dynamics in the end. Despite the score, this one should be downloaded, at least by all FF ~nerds~ (I mean, c'mon! It's only 11k large!).

A good dance song, but not exceptional. The samples are of very high quality and sounds excellent. The beat is good and the song isn't all that repetive. Also some emotion to spot in here. A very smooth and relaxing song. The strings are very elegant. The piano is a bit to fast when used before the drums enter. The song doesn't really evolve throughout and becomes quite boring to listen to. The samples are very good and clean. The piano doesn't really fit in though. The drums are very good. Few changes and boring to listen to, but not bad at all...

The Figaro castle, the last FF review I'll do. The artist is Smurf(and I'm sure that he wrote Electric D'Chocobo and that ff7sad.it song too, you should be more careful to remember to write your name). A step back from the more advanced FF7 revies I just did so I hope I didn't underrate it. A good song by Nobuo, but it really can't be compared to many of the others. Most samples are ok, but doesn't blend all to well. Some samples don't fit at all. Afternote on FF revies: Well, this is the last FF review. All the FF tracks (with possibly a exception of FF1 songs) was originally created by Nobuo Uematsu. Compare the scores with the other FF scores I've given, not with The Shadows scores on other songs since we have different standards(and generally, never compare a score score given from one reviewer with the same score given by another reviewer). And yes, there was one FF review by Shadow I didn't rewrite since he didn't seems to have noticed it was an FF song: ffpwndr.it :). In Shadows defence I should say that his scores wasn't much different than those I wrote.

ah... I think you guys got all the best FF7 songs tracked... One Winged Angel, Electric D'Chocobo, Aerith's Theme, and this one... Five Years Ago. A very beautiful and haunting melody. Dark and mellow. No critizisment in this section. And still no bonus-points to receive since the artist did not write the piece of music himself. Samples are quite good, but some seem a bit false or wrong chosen when played together. And is it just me or does the string fade to fast in the intro? Further into the song every thing sounds identically to the original. Then there's the harpsichord which far to puny... Not the best conversion, but get this one too if you're already sweeping through the FF songs.

The chocobo theme! There are some more remakes of it on the MA, but this is probably the only one I get to review. This is, no doubt, the coolest and funkiest song Nobuo has written and the coolest and funkiest remix Nobuo has done of the original Chocobo song. Sounds excellently close to the original. Except from the very beginning. Samples are very good, but the intro sounds wrong, and the guitar slide right afterwards plays wrong(I'm pretty sure that is ModPlugs fault though!). Get this song coz it's smaller than the MP3 :) Also it's the song to hear after you've heard the Arith theme and Last Battle 3(VOiCe).

Identical to the original, with only one exception: The piano, which isn't bad at all, but it doesn't blend perfectly with the others (but this is, how do you say, nitpicking). Ah... The sadest part of FF3... *sniff* I still remember this, and just like Ironsurfer, A.K.A Sandro R., I got goosebumps and almost shed a tear at this point of the game. An extremely beautiful and hauntingly melody that was crucial to the game. *sob* I'm getting all sentimental so I'll skip to the technical department. The samples are very good for this piece, but as before, they don't blend together all too well. Arrangement of the strings sound very good. I paused a moment when I read the title and heard the song though; is this really the Forever Rachel song? I though the name of this song was Celes Theme - Leap of Faith, or is the Forever Rachel song and the Leap of Faith songs the same?

I love this song! I just wanted to let say that before we begin. The piece is very similar to the original in most cases, but some sample choices are questionable. The melody is quite grand and the composition is spoilt by so few channels(and that was not critisism against Ironsurfer). The guitar and pan flute does not sound as they do in the original (the pan-flute mostly because it has far too much vibrato). The guitar is very good and probably sound better than in the original though. Sandro has been careful to make the piece rise and fade in the right places. I'm also glad to see that the finish isn't cut but rather has a functional finale. The trumpets sound very good. One of the very best FF3 songs there is.

This is one of the most boring FF3 songs there is. Unlike most of the game music from the FF series, this one sounds more like boring background music than the music that Nobuo is really famous for; The music that makes the game reach another height. The melody in this song is very anonymous. Arrangement is ok and samples are fine, and the sound effects from the original are identically. The piano sample sounds horrible though. The song cuts off abruptly in the end. Pretty boring to listen to, but a good conversion from the original. I feel that I must mention that this also is Ironsurfer's first FF remix. And I should also mention that when I review these track I cross the following qualities: similarity to the original, sample quality, similarity and the way they blend together, arrangement, but also the quality of the original piece is a factor when I decide the score.

I remember this song as being much more hauntingly than this. I always loved coming to that ghost forest and hearing that haunting melody. Some questioniable notes, and I think this is a bit more dynamic in the SNES game. The strings sound very good though. Ok samples, but they have a very hard time blending with eachother. This is one of the pieces that change the most throughout, so I concluded with a very good/amateur and forgave that some of parts don't sound as good as the original.

I can imagine that this one was a bit tough to convert. The beginning is moody and mysterious, and as the melody goes on it becomes more and more hauntingly. Then there's a fast section which is the climax of the song. I usually give just good/amateur on the musical part since the artist really doesn't compose anything himself, but this time I gave a bit higher because the melody really preserved it's intensity. Most samples are ok, but they don't blend well together, even though individually they are very suiting for the mellow sound of this piece. The song is repeted twice(which actually is a good thing since most of this songs are so darn short) and then cuts right off in the end... again.

I hardly remember the original, but regardless the similarity to the original it sounds very fine. A beautiful and dynamic song, with sort of a nap-time melody. The Elec keyboard taken from Zola is very nice and used accordingly. The beginning sounds very dynamic. The rest of the samples are ok, except for a flute that sounds abit false. Sandro scored a bit low technically because I think he should have made better use of IT's functions.

Very similar to the original SNES song. I think the drums are a little different, but that's the only (flaw) I could find. This song is very well known for all you FF freaks, since you hear it all the time when you fly about... And as far I remember, the first song you tire from. All samples are almost identical to the original. This track, as with almost all the other FF tracks, is ment to be played looped. I have mentioned before that neither the SNES or the NES have good audio abilities so the music is quite simple, and therefor quite easy re-write with a tracker.

Well I haven't played the FF1 game all that much so I'll just have to take Sandro's word for that this is how the song is... Musically quite ok. The NES only had four channels( I think), and there weren't much room for advanced structure. Most people won't really see the beauty in these FF songs unless they've played the games themselves. So it would be safe to say that this piece of music isn't for everybody. But a good conversion never the less. The samples are not the same as on the NES (NES had a sine wave, a triangle wave and one or two other samples to choose from ...). The new samples doesn't sound all that bad but they don't really blend well together. Especially the church(electric) organ in the beginning sounds quite good.

I skipped right to this FF remix since I'm not even going to compare it to the other FF remixes. This song sounds exactly as it does on the PSX(PlayStation). And as they say: If you're just gonna hear one FF song this year, this should be it. This is the most advanced piece of music Nobuo Uematsu has ever written, and also the most diverse and changing piece. Musically this song doesn't sound any different than the PSX version. The only thing substracting from the score is that this is a remix! Not a self-made composition. The samples are excellent and I don't think it would be possible to hear any difference from this conversion and from the MP3 that I have. Even the choir is here. A must download for all FF freaks and I encourage anyone else to download it too!

The first of many Final Fantasy reviews I'll get to do... I decided to rewrite every last review The Shadow did. Not beacuse every review was so bad, but more because it seemed like he was already tired of FF songs even before his first FF review, and also because The Shadow and I have different standards when it comes to reviewing. But enough of this babbling. This song is far too short. Most FF songs are looped when you play the games, so an outright conversion from the SNES or NES doesn't sound all too good since the songs cut right off when they're finished. But musically it's a great composition(although I can't give the artist a great plus for that since he didn't write it), but this remix has changed some from the original. Some upbeat drums has been added. Instead of the good old NES samples there are some mediocre samples here. Some of the samples aren't too bad, but as a set they don't really blend well together. I don't think I've heard the original of this though so I'm not gonna pass comment on the notes and re-arrangement, except just to say that it sounds good. The fact that this song is so short really pulls down the score though. Since he was remixing it with better samples I think that he should have at least given the song a proper ending.

The first thing that struck me was how very proffesional this sounded. The name is suiting for such a melodious and timeless melody. The drums are a bit overdone at times other than that there is not one bad thing to say about this song. The arrangement might be as proffesional, but the simplicity of the piece hinders me in giving a proffesional rating here. There is absolutely nothing wrong here either. The samples are of top quality.
