Mod Archive Password Help

Notice regarding IRC

Our IRC chat room is not the appropriate place to request account assistance. It is very insecure as there is no way of verifying if you are talking to a genuine staff member.

Additionally, staff members who are on IRC have been instructed not to respond to support requests there.

Forum passwords are not site passwords.

Please note that you will require a separate log-in for the forums and the actual modarchive.org website. They are two separate systems, and accounts are not shared between them.

Forgotten Password

Your first port of call should be the Forgotten Password Tool.

This will only work on accounts registered after 2007. Earlier accounts do not have e-mail addresses associated, so there is no way to send a password reset automatically.

If you are struggling to get your password via the automatic system, then you will need to get in direct contact with us. Unfortunately we currently only allow communications via our Forums. We will eventually have a form you can fill out (coming late 2014).

For now, you will need to use the Private Message function of the forum.

One small caveat: due to problems with spam bots, you may need to make at least two forum posts before being able to send a Private Message. You can post those here

Create a private message to Saga Musix that includes the following information:

  • You Mod Archive ID - This ID number is from your profile on the archive.
  • Your Mod Archive log-in/username - if you remember it. If you don't recall it at all its not a huge problem but you may have to provide further proof of your claim before we proceed with granting you acccss to the account.
  • A fully working email address where you can be contacted/sent the password. Please do not provide any form of trashmail/temporary e-mail address.

Once you're sorted out, you will be fine!

Again, we're sorry there are so many hoops to jump through, but once you get e-mail associated to your account you are good for life (as long as your e-mail keeps working!).

Check your SPAM inbox

If you have been informed by a staff member that you have been sent an email with your password and it doesn't within the hour, check your SPAM inbox or filtered messages for the e-mail. Additionally, some ISPs block the email as spam completely meaning it doesn't arrive at all. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that other than try a different e-mail address.
