A great tune of happiness and harmony of the summertime. Cool for relaxing your mind after a hard day of working etc! Really excellent melodies, rhythms, drumloops etc. One of the newer tunes from game composer Fabian Del Priore aka. Rapture. Great work! Hell yeah, mighty samples, nice stereo / panning effects, great misc. effects. The only thing is that the song could have lasted a bit longer. Other than that: Fantastic tune for your parties :-)

This is a very good example of the genre. I wouldn't have considered myself a drum and bass fan, but this has certainly changed my interests ! Quite a simple collection makes up the main synth harmony, as explained below, but it sounds very good. The use of vocals is very apt, and sounds perfectly in keeping with the built up mood. The percussion is verging on rave, and I love it !! And the bass instruments are just gorgeous.. There's something more than the simple drum 'n' bass, that's why I added the techno bit ! Altogether, I wish I had made this one ! =¬) Short, but a great listen, even the 1756th time... Truly one of my favourites, and bound to be one of yours !! Okay, here's where I have a tiny niggle... You see, as a tracker myself, I have somehow been led to frown upon people using looped drum riffs. No matter how groovy they sound, I'd still be more impressed if it was made using a couple of channels of note delays/retrigs and so on. Also I think I've heard that one somewhere else ;¬) No matter, it still works VERYwell ! The main melodical system is made from a cunning synth volume envelope. A loop in the envelope, enclosing a volume spike, and a slow fadeout create a very nice echoey sequence. Another fine example of his proficiency lies in the way he uses the hihat in channel 24. The use of the note/octave command WITHOUT the instrument number simply retriggers the sample, and leaves the panning envelope cycling left to right... Points to note young trackers ! This tracker is clearly very proficient. Not only has he come up with this rather neat instrument, and used a wide range of commands perfectly, but everything else in the patterns screams "PRO" ! =¬) We have lift off on a mission to push forward the frontiers of good music... ssssssssssck... OUT.

Serenegoh Suite is definitely a unique piece, and would probably make a good theme song to a "Pastoral 2000" version of the Fantasia segment in 1940. I can't seem to be able to describe this that well; it's just a fairly long orchestral tune that sounds like a combination of many of Nightbeat's songs (sorry for any artist rivalry). For your enjoyment, here are some instruments listed: low, high strings; oboe; flute; pizzicato; kettle drum. My complaint is that this is simply too boring in parts. Common Azo. Half 16-bit, half 8-bit samples, all sound good.

A great piece of music, with some high-quality samples. Ghidora uses his brilliant musical ability to compose a lengthy piece of work. But rather than becoming a repetively dull track, the constant variants in style and composition keeps the music flowing nicely. The only problem with this mod is the use of one or two samples which sound a bit crap compared to the rest of the high-quality stuff. Ghidora is hugely competent when selecting samples and using different effects. The majority of samples are high quality, with only a couple of exceptions. Brilliant use of volume slides and vibrato within the main structure of the song, along with a few other effects, less frequently. The piano sample is beautiful.

Regular Dance song: pretty good panning. Nice polyphony. This is a tune that you can add to your dance type mod list. The main theme leaves room for improvement. This piece goes pretty constant throughout its duration. There is a lot of polyphony to appreciate in this piece. I was able to hear at least 4 tunes different played at the same time, this definitely takes a lot of skill. Here the name of the song may take place as UNDERSTIMATED. There were no samples that were outstanding from others

Despite the tiny file size and dismissive title given to it by its creator, this is a wonderful track and is living proof of how great things can come in small packages. It is also a testament to how great MODS can be in the hands of talented people. The song is upbeat and catchy and while you'd probably not dance to it, you'll certainly be tapping your feet throughout most of the track. A little trick for playing this song in the ModPlug Player: for best results, set it to infinite repeat...more on this below. Kudos to ALL trackers. Evil Jimi +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Evil Jimi's Orifice +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The tech specs of this track are slightly deceptive. While it does indeed, only have 2 channels and 5 samples, it really only has 9 patterns, not 15 and actually runs for approximately 1 minute and 45 seconds, not 1mn07s. The reason for the discrepencies is due to an ingenious way of fading out the track: pattern 9 is repeated ad infinitum and with each repeat the volume fades, until finally, at 1mn45s, it has faded to zero. Now, while this might have been a good way of keeping the file size down, it does have serious side-effects. The track works fine in the ModPlug Player if you play it on its own and looped but if you play it looped in a Playlist, the other tracks won't play and if you play it unlooped, the track ends abruptly and jarringly. Moreover, you have to physically click the stop button or it just keeps repeating and since there is no sound you could forget, leave it running and then wonder why no other sounds are playing. It loses points for these reasons.

Another track from the person who brought us Typical Shave -- and yes, I also reviewed that track and yes, I also gave that track a perfect 10 ... so sue me! -- but this track actually manages to surpass that piece. The underlying beat is strong and consistent and the music is lush and sweeping but it is all still ultra trippy and weird and oh so cool. There are also a couple of vocal samples from the original "Shaft" which are utilised quite nicely...although on my system it wasn't clear what is actually being said. Kudos to ALL trackers. Evil Jimi +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Evil Jimi's Orifice +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The track runs for 5 minutes and 8 seconds, has 18 channels, 27 samples and 32 patterns. The samples are excellent quality and used wonderfully. The musicianship is superb and the final "product" is on par with anything from highly paid professionals using a fully equipped recording studio.

Wow, I really like this song. I was first surprised by the length (9:21) and first impressed by the great, very catchy, bell rhythm throughout. I also like the space vocal and progressive transitions at the beginning (listen from :38-:43 for a great cutoff). The bell rhythm expands at 7:55, and then a sub-bell rhythm that sounds eerily like One Scotch Long unfolds. I don't know if this seems to far out, but I get a distinct feel of rhythms and styles from the 60's-70's era, the time at which Apollo *13* launched! I had mentioned in my first revision of this review that it was too long, but naw, it deserves to be this long. Crisp, clear, mostly 8-bit samples. The bell (what kind of bell I'm not sure, no instruments were listed) is exceptional. Panning is used effectively as the mid-range hum-like sound throughout does at 7:15. A scant 13 channels are used properly also.

As chip tunes go, this one is very musically polished. The song gets a bit repetative, but the techno feel it presents lasts throught the whole song. This song is simple yet energetic... making it a simple energetic song! This song only loses tech points on the repetative forground rythem and the loop on the forground melody. The forground rythem is a little harsh to be so repetative and at times clashes with the melody. The loop on the melody sample is a little more obvious than some, but less obvious than others, so its not too bad but at times it sounds a little iffy.

This is a typical dance song, which also reminded me slightly of the good old DJ Bobo :) Ghidorah has created a very good dance song that includes all the elements that a dance song should have. (synths, piano, pumping beats, bass, chords) I'm not too fond of this kind of music in particular, but this sounded very nice. The whole song has some 'happy feeling' which gives you a good mood. A must download for dance-enthusiasts! A very balanced, and well performed piece of work. Great balance between the instruments makes the song pleasant listening to. Effects are used with sence, and where they are supposed to be. Ghidorah sure knows what he is doing.

Title theme from Sanity's demo 'Optimum Fuckup' released at The Hurricane Party (26-29 June 1992) and finished 9th in the demo competition. I have always been fond of Jesters' music, except for some of his songs that tends to be a bit 'noisy', which also goes for this one. The song is a typical demo-song from it's time of origin (early 90's) consisting of some orchestral elements and the typical 'jester-bass'n-beat' Jester has always shown great tracking skills, allthough this song lacks sample balance, making it sound very noisy. Except for that I have nothing negative to comment upon. Jester knows the tricks of the trade.

This is a fine piece of work. Going over the song, the beginning is energetic stopping to build up again and introduce a nice feature of the piece, the pan flute samples. The main theme is very well repeated throughout the song. Although the main tune is pretty nicely composed it leaves room for a little more creativity. In the middle of the song, it starts to build up energy once more with some voices that give this piece a dance nature. The ending of the songs contains more of the same theme; again asking for a tiny bit more of inspiration. The samples of pan flutes, which remind me of a South American musical instrument called Zamponas, make this piece unique. The voices throughout the piece defiantly make me want to jump to the rhythm :D . Very nice job on this one mr. stewe, it is a must download for anyones collection.

Awesome added this to his collection as simply the end of a TV show theme song he made. At less than 2 minutes, and with fairly little variation, I really couldn't spare to give this any higher than an 8 :P A wide array of percussion and an FX phaser sample (panned) top this off, with a synthesized lead playing a light melody and some of Awesome's often-used "warped (what a coincidence!)" strings. However, I don't feel this to be a very interesting work. Common Awesome, with a number of ripped samples. See my older reviews for more info.

well first of all......the first part gave me a jolt and then it made me giggle a little bit!! Its a funny little tune! Although Very short and only 4 channels, it doesnt sound that bad at all. well being a old 4 channel mod you cant expect much technically from this one. Old samples which sound like they are from very old amiga tunes and who knows where else! It is well put together in terms of patterns etc etc. Overall : Needs to be a little longer, because i listened to it like 3 or 4 times before realising that it just kept on going (57 seconds, come on!) 2ndly. Samples need improving. For its size, well its ok. Nothing spectacular. All i can say is, Why not give it a go? It will give you a quick laugh and for its size there is no reason to knock it back. Its not so bad after all. Its better than a lot of other Small sized 4 channel mods ive heard!

I think that the music sounds great. It loops a LOT with different chords etc etc and i would not listen to this over and over. I think it is a worthy piece of music though. It lacks a few things. The start of the song could be much better. And while it sounds ok, the Samples seem a tad "old" and "tinny" after a bit. I think some of the samples could be better. where to start. I dont want to sound mean...... But I have heard better. The Song is well timed and the samples are put together ok. I think a bit more time and effort could have been put into this one. There are hardly any effects or panning used. Not that most of us would mind not having the effects. It just lacks panning. I think that it sounds very repetitititive (!) I think it is worth a listen. There is nothing Majorly wrong with this tune....there are just a Lot of things missing. It sounds like it was tracked in an hour or less. Some panning, a few more effects and some Fresh instruments and some care on the patterns would make it a lot better. Maybe a 10 will result in that.

Very mellow trance, this, relaxing, somewhat somber, but still upbeat. Thoroughly listenable, and very likable. The arrangement and interaction between the lead, strings and pizzicato fill-in is well thought out, and the whole piece has a very polished feel to it. My only complaint with regards to the arrangement is that it's somewhat repetitive (although it is trance, after all), and the quick & dirty ending fade is too abrupt and doesn't really match the song very well... The samples are of good quality and fit together well, and the strings in particular seem to have been very carefully enveloped and panned. The understated lead works very nicely, as does the stereo-chorused but muted stringplucks. All in all, some very good musical ideas in here. If you like ambient trance, you'll probably find this one enjoyable.

The first thing that shocked me when I opened this mod was its length- just over 1 minute. But this short piece is a clean, sweet deliverance of European tango music. Intricacies uses many of the same samples used in Azo's later masterpiece, "One Scotch Long". Starting off with slow, mournful violin later accompanied by, from what I can tell, a sort of piano and bass violin. Relatively small file size, great samples. Good job. Sorry I can't think of anything else for technical use.

This module is just what its name might imply - several MC Hammer samples strung together to form a demostylesque `Can't Touch This' remix, along with some synth notes later in the song that seem to want to mimic the bass line from `Push It' by Salt & Pepa. The notes and timing are done correctly. It's not very creative (that's why the low score), but the nostalgia factor garners some extra points. Nothing special, although I will say that some clever joke lyrics could really go good in here (the person who tracked the gnome rap song a few years back leaps to mind). Technically, not much to say about this module. There are some minor problems with loop timing here and there, but that doesn't detract too much from the song. The really nifty ol-skool-hip-hop-horn-hit thingie is a nice touch. The sample quality is adequate... To sum it up, if you really miss hearing `Can't Touch This' on the radio and need a quick burst of nostalgia, go for it, but if you're expecting new ground to be broken or the next musicscene song of the year, this isn't it.

This song has some rather good ideas but they are underdeveloped. It is kinda generic with the upbeat synth, pads, and arpeggiated piano. The percussion was very weak however. This track would be much better if it had a more complete percussion section. Their were also some odd phrasings as well. This song does not flow very well at all. I liked this songs sounds even though they were not used very well. I even found a few sounds that were not used at all! Not really any effects used unless you include volume control. The loop on the synth i done very well, it sounds really tight.

28 samples, and it still doesn't sound particularly impressive. At points in the mod, it seems like the music might pick up a bit, but over and over again the poor samples brings this mod to shame. However, the idea could have worked quite well with better samples. Bad, bad, bad samples and a lack of imagination. This mod drones on for nearly 8 minutes, and, whilst I can almost hear what Vanisher was trying to achieve, it just doesn't work. At best, it sounds like one of those mini Casio keyboard preset-tunes. At worst, a repetitive demonstration of the Worst 28 Samples Ever.

Although simple in style, length, and variety of samples, this mod definetely shows _Matt_'s well regarded musical ability. Hauntingly mysterious, dark and beautiful, "Death Concealed" is one of the best mods from _Matt_ I've heard. It might have sounded a little better with higher quality samples, but is still well worth downloading. The intro consists of a haunting, un-harmonic musical box, which gradually contrasts against a simple piano and a trip-hop beat. Eventually, some strings, a piano lead and an electric guitar enter the track; various effects debut throughout the song (including what sounds like someone breathing down a microphone??). Although this mod uses only 7 fairly low-quality samples, and little in the way of effects, the overall atmosphere and _Matt_'s level of expertise combine to make this a technically very good mod.

This artist has an AMAZING talent for making trance music. The tune catches your ear while the beat moves you along. The beginning also had a nice touch, though the end was repeditive (making up for it in a fade fasion). There were also some vocals that made it technically not "techno", otherwise I would consider it to be techno. Basically, the music moved you along, and you can really get into the song. The procussion was handled very well, and so were the instruments. The style at which the artist used these instruments kept you on the move and in the mood for more. The tune wasn't bad, but like mentioned earlier was a bit repeditive. If you want ideas on how to use the instruments in this song to their best ability, I think you don't have to go very far.

When I was describing this song to a friend of mine, I said "German rock trash." Well, this song may be that, but it has some half-decent percussion tracking, which saves it from a totally horrid rating :P This song basically consists of a repetitive guitar rhythm overlayed with cymbal hits, drum rolls, and warped chant vocals. All I could decipher was "Aaaarghhh!", "No More!", and "Die Now!" Anyway, I don't really recommend. Very bad vocal samples, and all the instruments appear to use the same envelopes (at least when read in Mod-Plug Tracker). I suppose the pattern layout is not that bad, though. And at least comments were written. Oh well. I would consider this an okay beginner's piece were it not for the fact that obviously a deranged metal fan wrote this.

Though this doesn't sound much like the wrath of an angry god, it's a refreshing piece. If you go through the samples list, about 80% are done by Elwood- and they're all superb. Admittedly not a great work, this manages to pull off some good sequences of trancelike (this song actually appears to be intended to sound more like a lofty, melodic tune but ends up sounding more like a theme song to the Another Day in Paradise movie) rhythm. The percussion, though repeatedly tracked, has pretty good samples, but the overall tracking style is rather bland, and there are few effects used. The technical aspect doesn't actually take too much away from the song, but it's enough for a good 0.5 drop :)

I would first of all like to apologize for my initial review of this song. I said that the Necros, as in Necros/FM wrote this. But clearly, in the details, the artist states that it is a different Necros. Now on with the reivew... Quite an interesting piece of music. It sounds like a kitchen in a mansion at the beginning, or maybe a shaky space shuttle. But if you follow the first scenario, the song then carries you into the main room of this mansion, where ghosts and demons and wandering about in despair. Sorry if my imagination gets the best of me in my reviews ;) Anyway, Music for the Undead is a great piece, and cleverly made a meaningful ballad overshadowed by a horror feel. Again, I mentioned Necros/FM's samples here, but the same applies: this has some great spooky death screams, cello, and piano samples. This is very well arranged, and even resembles the master himself Necros of Necros/FM.

The tune was catchy with a good accompaniment in the background giving it a nice ambient sound. The title doesn't go the best with it's name, but if you have an imagination you could put two and two together. Ok, the instruments used worked very well with each other. They were a little overused though with the same tune going on over and over again but at least with a little variation. In the beginning the song catches your attention but kind of dies in the middle, still an overall well made song.

You will be getting yourself a spacey, relaxing tune. You can never go wrong with Awesome here. He gives his usual spiel in instruments text about at the last moment upping the samples, this time for the vocals. Sorry if I don't write much here, but the reason is twofold: 1. This tune starts out with a piano playing, in similar style to a famous piece of classical music. The other parts slowly build around the piano, before the piano fades out. This is quite an easy-listening type of dance music, quite happy and light, even though it is mainly in a minor key. There is not much of a leading melody in parts of the song, but that means it can blend into the background for listening while working. A mixture of 8-bit and 16-bit samples have been used to make this song, but all the samples sound crisp and clear. The artist has included a modulated-synth sound, which I really like. There is a real contrast between the piano samples at the beginning and the synth samples towards the end, but these have been blended very skilfully to make a polished piece.

It sounds like a tracker's little brother has used his computer when he wasn't looking. The annoying thing is that the samples in this piece sound OK. A very dark, ambient piece, fitting in well with the theme suggested by the title. A lot of the sounds sum up perfectly the feel of being in deep space, or being watched by the Silent Aliens. The piece develops well, being neither too long nor too short at 5:43. I am quite new when it comes to listening to these Trance syle pieces of music, but it is a style that is growing on me more and more, and this piece will be in my MOD playlist from now on. A mixture of 8-bit and 16-bit samples here. Lots of synthesisied sounds and gated snare fills really fit in with the trance style of the music. I like the way the main synth fades out halfway through the piece leaving just the drums and bass, then comes back in again with a snare roll. The voice sample is used sparingly, and not over-used as in so many otherwise great tunes.

While this song is called "Flowing Melodies," the melodies themselves do not strictly follow that form. This is basically a progressive song, where the same beginning melody starts and then is overlayed by a different melody every few patterns or so, making the song not very full. However, the main rhythm is VERY catchy, so I gave this song about 4 points just on that. There is a poor bass drum sample, but every other sample is satisfactory. File size isn't bad, and enough effects were used.

Reality Soul is a medley of not previous songs by Awesome, but rather mostly new melodies arranged into a similar environmental feel. Describing this song is a difficult task, but I can say that there are some good dance melodies, along with some really weird synth melodies heavy in portamentos. This comes off as sounding much like Awesome's other songs but in a new mood. Awesome uses the same technical structure in all, or at least 90%, of his songs, so please refer to my For a New World review for common technical use.

Well....what 2 say...Its my own Mod file....Its been on the archive 4 over 4 years now and no one bothered 2 rate it so I thought I might do it myself. THe mod is great and really one of my best works so far..!!!! The main theme s repeated really often 2 make it kindda boring but still the Mod sounds great and has a good melody line. I would suggest giving it a try. Technically speaking ...Its not much of a complicated mod . THe patterns are repeated and samples are 8 bit making it sound a bit scratchy....A better lead piano could've been used 2 make the Mod sound a lot more good . But overall its not much of a comlicated tune with lots of effect . Infact this is one of the few Mods created using a no-effects policy. Still worth a try.

THis is a great melody. I must say the artist has put a lot of work into composing the melody line which works out through out the song in a very soothing way and has a very eastern type of touch to it. Also the mid-song Drum sequence really showcases the artists ability on the drum track. REally nice Mod. Keep up the good work The technical side oif this Mod file has doesn't have a lot to it. SOme of the patterns are repeated making the song's genre "Easy listening". ALso the Drums sound sort of Repetitive . But still the whole Mod sounds great and has a great sound. Samples are well used and worthy of applause. Good Mod file overall.....I would suggest sdownloading this file.
