A Hiaku: Fast techno beats go. Usual techno keyboards. Good rhythm also. Seriously though this song is your basic run-of-the-mill mod techno song full of bass, a simplistic beat, and flanging strings/chords fluttering about. It didn't make me cringe however, and i found myself liking the song for its simple beauty. However, the song is so average in instrumentation and rhythm that it gets stale fast...but i dont hate it, and thats all that matters. Seems to have a good knowledge of the programs..all the rythms dont clash and compliment each other. The song maoves at a steady pace and doesnt settle for too long in one place which adds variety. So other than the eventual boredom that sets in after hearing a song like this 100 times over in our reviews, this song rocked the house.

I dont know whether to consider this blasphemy or funny as all hell. This minute and a half tune is simply (and i mean VERY SIMPLY) a cover of the Creedence Clearwater hit...only.....poppy. It sounds like Kraftwerk without the batteries or sumthin....but frankly its funny as a mofo, and ill give the guy credit...I wouldve never thought to cover THAT song let alone ANYTHING from the 70's. Funny, cheezy, worth a listen for a laugh. Because of its short length not much tech is needed or utilized..but everything is in synch and the tune isnt messed up. Not worth downloading for the instruments as ther are about 5, and they're all older than God. This song mustve come from a bored bored man late late at night. But it made me boogie, so WTF.

St3vor shows off his talent for really writing up a story behind a piece of music again. He calls this piece Irish-influenced, but the influence is fairly weak. But the piece is a nice, solemn, string-driven setup that goes in layer by layer and sets down its message. The song builds well, climaxes, and goes out smoothly, without a hitch. This could almost be film soundtrack music, if it were performed live. There's not a whole lot of tech work to comment on, here. Mostly simple volume effects that do the job nicely, and retriggers on the drums for a more precise pounding get up, get in, and get it over with in a minimum of flash. Not much tech needed to be handled in the piece, and St3vor left well enough alone when there wasn't much point in throwing around effects. This is a very good mood orchestral piece, almost soundtrack stylistically... Those who like the genre may enjoy this.

The key behind this piece is the backstory, the anime series of Neon Genesis Evangelion. That storyline draws together two normally clashing styles, and makes them work together in a way that manga seems to catalyze incredibly well. Strangely enough, the frenetic breakbeats and industrial power noise actually form a very laid-back atmosphere. St3vor kept the breakbeats in the background, making them a highlight, rather than the main focus of most of the song. This let him play around with areas of relative simplicity, phasing out the breakbeats when he needed more intensity, and bringing them back in unobtrusively to start building up to the final climax. The piece is actually very simple musically, but it makes for a good listen. Excellent tech work, here. St3vor drained every single last drop of usefulness out of a single breakbeat pattern, and really picked out some ideal samples for this sort of sound. All of the decay and handling work is done by hand, in effects, but it makes for a well-crafted sound all around. Mind the mixing... This module clocks in at over forty active channels at its highest points. But if you want the greatest effect from this module, listen to it on a quality soundcard that supports surround-sound. St3vor made strategic use of the Surround commands for great effect with the environmental crashes, which could truly stand out on a good system, though even a sturdy pair of headphones does justice to his stereo effects, flinging sound from one edge of the spectrum to the other. There are one or two places where volume shifting is choppy, and the distortion guitar sounds overly intrusive when it's not being tremored, but overall, the technical work is handled competently. This will make for a unique addition to an Industrial fan's library... But any Manga fans will recognize the style as straight out of many dark futuristic Anime films. Those who like the style won't want to pass this up.

Wow ! This is what I call a waste of hard disc space. This is probably the most repetitive tune I have ever heard in my life. Mildly said it is a penetration of ears. The song begins with some chords followed by a poor beat followed by a poor melody followed by a poor melody overlay followed by some terrific speech samples...okay Matt, I don´t know how ENCORE exactely rated your previous song but I simply can´t imagine it was worse than this piece of a sound assembly. The song is called WHAT IS BEST ?...I can tell you : Quit business ! :) No..try to improve again. I can only repeat what ENCORE recommended. The samples sound dumb and dull and very antiquated. The speech samples are worked into this piece in a way I never heard before. TERRIFIC ! Alternation is replaced by repetition so no transitions needed. It´s the easy way. But I have to say that Matt is a beginner and therefore I won´t judge this too hard. Nevertheless this review has 2 meanings: 1. Don´t download this song ! 2. Matt: Try to improve your self-estimation and your style of tracking ! I know that every new tune is an improvement for the tracker himself. At least he thinks that it is one. In some months or years if you continue tracking you will just laugh about this tune yourself...ehm...not that I did...ehm...Just believe me.

The song starts right off with some trance strings which go on and on and seem to last forever. To make it short, it´s a rather dull tune with a repetitive melody (if you can call this a melody) and I can´t imagine that anyone would listen to it too long. There is neither alternation nor transpiration put in this weak effort to compose an interesting trance tune...not to mention the tuning problems in the song. Samplequality is standard. The repetetiveness and the poor workout lowers the attraction of this song rather critically. Better luck next time.

I saw the weird song title and couldn't resist grabbing this one. I'm glad I did, because it's a very cinematic and compelling track. Starts with a neato 80s-style analogue bass, and keeps it rolling with TR-626ish sounding drums, a cool twangy lead, and some nicely done synth chords for harmony, and makes the entire production smooth but unconventional. Very well done, with sort of a game/movie feel to it... These two have also mastered the use of their tracker (it's a four channel mod, but it could easily be an eight or ten channel or XM). The samples are well chosen and, as I said earlier, there is that phat 80s analogue feel across the whole thing. The strings aren't quite seamless when looped, but very close, and it doesn't really take away much from the mod, and again, that's me nitpicking. Good stuff, really good stuff, this is going to stay in my playlist both at home and at work.

I have to go with OK/Professional here because, well, that's what it was. No new ground is broken, in fact it seems to be quite formulaic. It's well composed with appropriate samples, and it could be pretty danceable (cue images of sloshed-and-stoned partygoers tripping beneath flashing lights here), but it kind of sticks to the basic rules of its genre a bit too much, perhaps.... Well-picked samples, good quality on the speech, but the kick, well, doesn't...also, some of the highs seem to drop out on the breakbeat, so the sampling rate could probably be a little bit higher, or perhaps the samples could be individually EQ'ed a bit better, but in general, there aren't any major complaints about the technical side of things. Overall - very danceable house; you could easily sneak this into your local discotheque's mix and people wouldn't notice anything different - but the bad side is you could easily sneak this into your local discotheque's mix and people wouldn't notice anything different. DynasT has a handle on how to track, now it's time to get those creative juices flowing a bit more freely...

Well, this is certainly an interesting one...the music is quirky, kind of like what you might expect to find on a Japanese sidescroller game (think Clockwork Knight, but if it had been on a sixteen-bit cartridge machine, instead of Saturn). It's weird and quirky, and kind of cool in places, and the chord layout suggests an orchestral piece... I feel that the samples could have been chosen a bit more carefully, and there are some (most notably the orchestra hit) that seem to have short dead spots at the beginning which should have been cropped off. Also, the low sampling rate lends to the overall 'gameyness', but if that's what the composer wanted, s/he came up in spades... Overall, the samples are sort of bad, but the song has a few gems hidden in there, so definitely download if you have time. I simply think it could stand to be reworked once or twice into something fantastic...

'Trance' is too general - this is a lot more epic than your basic trance song, with sweeping, swirling strings that create an almost cinematic feel, well-selected drums that are syncopated in all the right places, and these coolly-effected, clanging hats. The melody is easy to follow, and probably a bit repetitive, but it's trance, and having said that, I can tell you that as trance goes, it's not so repetitive as all that. A marvelous addition to any collection, especially those of you who like well-done dance music. Are we sure this is only four channels? I'm impressed! The samples have clearly been chosen and edited with care, and the vocoder samples are oh-so-cool, but not overused (a la Cher). One of the string chord samples is a bit short and could probably be looped a bit more seamlessly, but that's just me nitpicking. Overall, you get the feeling that this project has had quite a bit of time and energy put into getting it right, and the results are impressive.

This is a real stomping hard techno track, but all in all its just an average gabber track. u won't hear anything really new from this. just some 303 noise, repeating voice sample,a kinda goa-style choir melody (if u wanne call it that way..) and some nice transitions. this will work on a rave but not when u listen to it alone. The samples here are average and pretty low-quality. if magnus had some more good samples this could have been great cuz that choir melody has potential...

Another great remix of this great tune. I have never heard the original, but if it's anything like this I'm sure I'll like it! This version by Merlin is much more atmospheric than any others I've heard, using effects like thunder and echo to increase the ambient feel of this tune. I really like the way the piano fades in after the "crash" sound, and the fact the artist has used the full voice sample instead of just the "Outside World" part like others have. The artist has made good use of the stereo panning positions when playing the piano and voice samples, with some nice echo which takes away the "flat" feeling that can be a bad point in so many otherwise good songs. I did notice that one of the samples was taken from a previous remix of the same song, but that means it's guaranteed to fit in with the song. A well constructed song that any dance music lover should have in his or her playlist.

I`m not a big Spice Girls fan but I`ll try to be objective on this review,ok.. so this is a cover of a song by the Spice Girls.. hmm.. it sounds like a midi tune, it has only a few old piano/chord samples, bassline and some 80s pop style drums.. no vocals (yey) .. in some parts it sounds almost exactly like the background music of the original song. well I guess he covered that song pretty good, but it is far from sounding like a professional track.. Very poor quality of samples.. u can even hear the sound of the chords looping (!) so it's pretty annoying.. everything here is amateur made and not interesting, just like the original.. oops! was I not objective? muahahaha ;-)

This is a nice happy rave tune, but needs more quality samples. most of the melodies here are nice and they have good vibe, but the samples that build them don't mix toghter good. the strings here that come in the middle are suppose to sound spacey, but they are in really low quality and they don't fit. the beats here are good altho the bassdrum here is a little out of tune sometimes. at 3:42 comes in a very bad melody that ruins the whole track, its too noisy and annoying.. sorry Mad Max,but u should have worked more on the mixing, don't just put every melody that comes into ur mind, try to make a melody that will fit first! a lot of good samples, but they are in low quality.. also more panning would help this tune. otherwise it is worth a download..

It's an okay tune, it's got some really nice bass, that is if you have a nifty stereo to listen to it on. The lead guitar/synth guitar is a little out of place, kinda eratic. Repetitive, no great re-listen value. I really love when it slows down and speeds up, thats a great touch. The distorted guitar sample is REALLY old, and it sounds terrible. The pitch slides on the lead/synth guitar keep me from giving it a higher rating, the just don't sound natural at all. Very out of place.

This song honestly sounds like they tried to use the guitar as a KEYBOARD...not like they were trying to sound serious and failed....so the song deserves credit fot that idea. Other than that the beat is a little catchy and the song remains overplayed and boring. Tech wise, this songs not bad at all...The artist seems to have good understanding of melody and programming. Plus there are some seasoned-pro tricks used such as the rolling beat trick and adquate bridges are distributed throughout the song. The novel guitar used is manipulated quite well in rhythm at least, if not in melody. But the song is just the same stuff we always hear, so therefore the 5.5

I don't c any big errors in this one,it was tracked straight and professionally with some good techniques... this will work on the dance floor, thats for sure :) No complaints about the samples here, they are all 16-bit/stereo,but still a lot of things here could be much better, for instance the intro (first 2 mins),it could have been shorter.. and some more soft strings and panning would make this track have some more deeper feelling. otherwise this is a real great song for any dance lover!

Kinda repetative and cheesed a bit but good for the holidays. There's nothing wrong technically with this song other than it doesn't mix well. WHAT DONT WERK: hmmm, where to start....The beat is hidden under a completly useless tomm tomm, there are chimes in the back that have no rhythm, the samples are kinda crappy, and the song is repetative AS HELL. I think the artist was trying to incorporat too many of his favorite styles, as theis song feels like a schyzophrenic...going 100 diffrerent directions at once. There are some moments of tech mastery here (like where the rolling beats provide a nice little break) but other than that the mod becomes boring and jumbled. Better luck next time.

The song is a strange yet enjoyable mix of bleeps and spacy sounds, elegant strings and dacable yet slow beats. The detraction? well, the techno part and the ambient parts sound really really cool...SEPERATLY...together they clash a bit, sounding corny yet elequant. and good + bad = 6.0 Here's the best area of the song...mr. jester is a master at this stuff, as everything is pitched strung together and mastered very well. The high tempo and slower beats make and interesting contrast that works very well...and the strings are very nice. *sorry about the above bloop..hit the wrong buttuon* Hmmm, another perplexer. This one has the good majority, being a dancy and emotional work with elegant sequences and a driving beat. The strings are movie-quality work, and the little bells used accompany them fully. The let down?, the beat/snare are off a little sounding like clap chick boom chick....maybe intentional, but probably not. Also the bells are alittle atonnal, but all in all its an amusing mod. tech is done well here, with everything pitched well and panning is appropriate. There are, however, moments of atonity...where rythyms clash, and that can be annoying..but not too hindering to listen again...the strings are very nice after all...

Some panning is used which helps a bit, and everything is in synch (gawd i feel so slimey after saying those 2 werds now). All instruments blend well, but the overall 8 min. length makes it unbearable to sit all the way through in one sitting. This is a pure kick ass *Magnus* style track. it starts with a cool part from the movie "Aliens (part 2)",that part from aliens is 1 minute long, when it ends u hear something blows up and then it turns into awesome fast hardcore beat, this is a great idea for transition,at least I think so. :P in 1:50 comes in a catchy gabber melody, that fits very good to the vibe.. it gets really noisy after a while, but its a pretty enjoyable track - maybe not for everyone.. Everything was placed right here, the melodies here are really crazy and they sound good with the drums.. theres a little scream sample here that pops up once in a while,I think that really fit to this track. The voice samples are in a real low quality,it gives this track a spooky feeling. nothing sounds clean or soft here, its a real mad hardcore track,so if u like this style download it..
