This is an Ok-ish trance/dance song, has the usual repetativeness of the genre, does a few build ups but takes way too long for me and doesnt really go anywhere after that. Average IMO :) |

It's techno of some description, not completely on the ball as it's very thin on the ground. I personally didn't like this one, so I won't comment further. |

The thing that really lets this one down is the terrible use of percussion and some out of tune instruments, it's all over the place and makes it sound quite amateurish. It's OK but not that great. |

some really good ideas in here. This tune is relaxing and not too jumpy which is the best ingredients for a gently mellow tune. The tune is well sequenced in the manor that all sections relate to each other without jumping around or repeating (which is all too common these days in trance music). Overall its a great tune to sit back and relax with. I've seen some mods that use outrageous number of programming effects to show off and sound crap, this tune on the other hand is equally good in programming and equally good in sounds. The sample quality is no problem here, the instruments have been selected well and express the gentleness of the composition to the best ability. Overall: a well written composition with no complaints for an ambient trance listener. People seeking maybe a little more of a thump should look further down this artists list of mods... |

This is really weird! It basically consists of a couple of guys "singing" about a drug and how wonderful it is, then then how awful it turns out to be. (this does convey a positive message). I had to laugh at this cos the lyrics are definitely awesome entertainment (i guess the artist had a laugh while writing this too). The melody behind this all isn't that bad, sure its repetitive, but its hidden mostly bye the much louder vocals. Its got some great ideas here with some nice melody and chord sequences. Overall: Its loud, a bit poor in musical terms, but it's entertaining with some reasonably funny/strange lyrics. The majority of this tune is taken up by the vocals, so i better start with quickly with the instrument samples. Ok, the instruments are reasonable, the drums are a little on the rough side though but nothing really to worry about. On the other side the vocals are a bit weird basically because they all differ in loudness. This is especially noticeable when "Vally of Wonders" is sung though the chorus. Overall: Its not a technically challenging tune with hardly any use of effects, just basic tracking ability is used here. However, it's tracked well and laid out neatly. Download if you want a laugh. |

Wow, well this is certainly a change for the listener. A super orchestral/synth music piece with some real depth! It starts with some heave timpani and drumming with some fantastic rolling patterns. The tune it brilliantly textured with plenty of melody changes and backing variations to captivate the listener into a heavy maneuvering tune. the instruments are actually given some direction as panning is used to create a super audio effect for the listener. The really sad thing that lets this down is that is doesn't end, it just stops dead. I'm not sure whether its supposed to loop. Overall: A mod that you should definitely listen to, its a change from the usually stuff you get these days, and it sounds great too. This artist has used a whole combination of effect to emphasis the heart-racing feeling. It especially uses a lot of panning which gives distance and direction to virtually all of the instruments, this is applied wonderfully. Accenting is used also to bring the timpani sounds to life, this sounds splendid. The overall technical complexity of this is very good, it is reasonably advanced in use of track programming and is laid out and written well by the artist. Thumbs up to this one! |

This is a fats techno tune with some pretty good melody and chord sequences. The tune progresses through many phases with each phase introducing new sounds and patters. The backing is brilliant with some really good panned echo patterns. Some excellent bass line and drum sequences along with a nice thick texture of arpeggios in the melodies and syncopated chords. The tune does stay on the same note all the way though, but since it has got a lot of interesting effects/instrumentation, it doesn't sound annoying. Quite a weird approach has been taken in the construction of the ending, it suddenly speeds up, then down then up again and all over the place, but this sounds great and is a actually a great effect. Overall: Its worth a listen to this is if your into fast techno beat music. The artist has put some hard work and imagination into the texturing and instrumentation in this one. This artist has used a whole combination of effect to emphasis the techno beat feeling. It especially uses a lot of panning which gives distance and direction for some of the sound, this is applied wonderfully. Other track programming includes syncopation of samples to also give the chord section a emphasis on the main beat. Sample quality is very good with some nice crisp sounds used. Also a good selection of instrumentation used. Overall: A superb tracked piece of techno music, with some great track programming techniques used. The artist certainly knows his way around the software to deliver such a wide and deep sound. |

After a long interlude of drums that repeat over and over for about 1 minute, a techno bass line is introduced which repeats with the drums. (this actually sounds ok) The variations on the bass line are interesting with some great use of some filter cut-off. However, it all gets far to repetative with very few additions except some extra introductions of a voice sample. This describes the first part, the second part has far more potential as it actually has some chords in there. This bit is nice and mellow with a super drum sequence which rolls back into the techno beat. Again, this part repeats again a few times but then a pizzicato string melody bouncing around in the backing. The ending is sadly not that good, simply a drum pattern that crashes out with a symbol at the end. Overall: If some more melody variation had been used, then it would have been better, a better use of intrumentation to make a thicker texture would have also been nice. As it is, the music has a lot of "empty space" where some other instuments would have made a nice backing. This mod actually uses some good filter cut off techniques along with the usual echos and syncopation effects. It is well laid out and tracked quite professionally. The samples and instuments are good quality, but lack of variety lets it down. Overall: A well writen tune in technical terms, perhaps not that in musical, but certainly by an artist that knows the software quite well, and will probably make some more good tunes like this in the near future. |

A rather lightly textured tune which partially resembled the original tune "Popcorn" by Hot Butter. The melody is the nearly the same as the original played off one beat and it does have a few new ideas incorporated. Its got a house techno beat along with a very repetitive over used bass line which could be improved somewhat with a little more variation. After the first section of the tune has finished, it repeats again but with a few other instruments added and then finally fades out. Overall: nothing too exciting about this tune. Its a little bit on the lite side with little texture to keep your senses occupied. It also gets a little on the repetitive side, but is a good try at a re-write of the famous song with a nice style variation twist. The mod is written in pretty basic terms, just a few tracker programing effects used here (for the bass echo etc...) so its not that technically impressive, nor is it that challenging for the tracker software. Overall: it is clean and well laid out, samples are of reasonable quality, maybe a little more attention should have been paid to the bass line and a little chord sequence wouldn't have gone amiss as an improvement. |

This is a weird tune, its almost ambient. There is a mixture of instuments that clash in certain ways over a nice wide choir at the beginning. After this, the tune falls into a techno beat, but hte most horrible bit is that melody is WAY off tune! I guess it could have been on purpose, but it really does no justice here. In fact this lets the tune down. The backing is fine, a great selection of synthy sounds and tinkering pianos along with a huge chior sample. It ends quite abruptly with a sudden fade out which nearly doesn't make it! Overall: Some good ideas have been applied to the instruments, a combination you wouldn't normally find together. It would be a great tune if only the melody synth lead had been on tune. It uses a lot of pitchbends on the melosy which throws it way off tune, this lets it down tremendously. Hoever the lay out and track usage is great, no problems there. A nice set of instuments and sampele are a complement to this tune, although a couple of the drumming samples could have been better. Overall: This artist has good potential writing mod tunes, its a recommended download just to hear the style its written in, try and ignore the lead synth though... |

A nice pipe section at the beginning in a folk type style, later a drun section with bass is introduced. It really thins out on texture here but thats nothing to complain about since its a 4 track. The melody is pleasant and lite, with a good flowing form. The bass line and drums are reasonable but a little on the slow side. This tune could have been improved if it was played a little faster as the drums tend to be seperated uncomfortably apart. Overall: A good tune with some original ideas. It flows through the tune without repeating which is a nice change. This artist has probably written a few other mods since this, so keep an eye/ear out. Not technically astounding, but its a 4 channel/track Protracker module which does use all of the available audio resources. The artist has also used some chip sample modulation effects to create a couple of warbly chip sounds in certain places of the tune, as for any other programming, its minimal and not realyl needed here. Overall: A potentialy good artist in the making. (or has been made, since 1994) |

Well this mod starts off nice and slow, easy going with a cool tribal drum beat... It progresses further with crunchy explosive sounds which then introduce an echoing "comping" piano routine... After this the mod is suddenly taken into a fast techno beat with some great bass/drums sequences. The piano melody contiunes thoughout most of the mod with a couple of breaks here and there, it can get a little repetative. Some rather nice synthy TB303 sounds are in here too, making it really stand out with a punchy techno bass line. It follows on like this for about another 2 minutes with a few new ideas introduced here and there. The tune ends after about 6 minutes with an ending that sounds similar to the intro, it works quite well. Overall: A super punchy techno track thats well worth downloading and listening to. It got some great synth progressions but unfortunatly its let down a little by its over-repetativeness. A Scream Tracker module that sounds brilliant is hard to come by, this one comes close with great use of tracker programming effects, these include, panning, echoing and dymanic accenting. Some of the samples are a little crunchy sounding, which makes it seem to distort in places, but its nothing major to worry about. Overall: A well written mod by an artist with good knowledge of the tracking software's capabilities. |

It starts with a pattern of drums, which repeats over and over for about half a minute, then add a loose octave switching bass line (up down up down on the same pitch), repeat a bit more, then add some weird off note piano and synth melody, repeat a bit more, then leave that lot repeating over and over again... then ends after about 3 minutes with a "Crunch crunch crunch" sounding drum. Not much to it is there? I found the melody quite annoying after while, the bass line does not change at all... it can send you nuts just listening to this! Overall: I had to stop this mod half way through the second time i heard it... it was far too repetative with no variations whatsoever. It could have given me a headache if i'd put up with it for any longer. If there were some other instuments, some more imagination and ideas, then this could have been better. The samples are the only resonable thing about this tune, the tracked music its just bog standard written with no effects at all. Techncially primative, its an 8 track mod which could have been a lot better had it had a more imaginative driver behind the wheel. Since its a first time tracker, then its actually a quite reasonable job, perhaps it would have been better if he/her improved his/her tracking skills first before releasing onto a public archive. |

This has got to be one of the best MTM tracks i have heard, its a really cool Jazz swing style tune, its piano riffs are excellent (they're even honky-tonky tuned, hehe) also the drums are very well done with fill ins and breakins'outs perfectly timed. The first melody section is played by an instument i don't quite recognise (i think its an organ), its catchy! its really cute, bright and light. The typical double bass instument plays a nifty bass line all the way though with trumpets and other instuments adding their penny worth in as the tune progresses. The ending is also as good as the main tune, it ends perfectly with a short but brilliant "outro". Full use of pitchbends on this one to slide the instuments in up and out of the tune. Its wonderful collaboration of instuments actually sounds great. However, the samples themselves lack in quality and some sound very unrealistic. But overall its a well written tune and is suprisingly small at just over 100k. |

If you've ever heard Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, you'll immediatly get the idea of what i mean when i say there is an original piano sequence repetativly played over and over again ontop of a very similar chord sequence. But the mod takes off quite well and is very good with some good ideas for a melody toward the middle of the tune. The main melody is played with a piano, with a gentle pipe fluttering in the background, later this also playes a part of the main melody. This mod was obviously designed to be repetative all the way though, but this style of repeativness is nice and is not annoying like some other mods i have heard. Overall: Quite peaceful and relaxing, the drumming is fine and so is the bass line which complements the texture of the tune well and pleasantly. Plenty of new ideas used in this tune to keep you interested. A few effects used here, mainly panning and speed offset to get the "stereo" effect on some of the samples. The tracks are well used and the full instumentation of the tune is excellent. The samples are reasonably good quality with no cause for any comments. Overall: a very good job at tracking this, a recommended download. |

A dance beat sytle applied to the old pop song "What up?" Its sound nice with it's fast thumping dancefloor beat and fast drum breakbeat loops. The whole song does get a bit repetative constantly following the same chord pattern all the way through. The euro-lead sound is a nice twist with a jumpy backing pattern. Its a good remix with a couple of new ideas included. Overall: A good remix of this song, but due to lack of innovation/variance it bears hardly any originality apart from the added techno dance style. The samples loop fine here, a minimal use of effect though, with only a few used for the panning and dynamics. The tracks are laid out well and have enough texture to make this a catchy tune. The sample quality could have been better, but it does fine as it is. Overall: A successfull attempt at a remix of the original. The techno beat actually suits this song. However, if it was a little less repetative, it would make it a lot more enjoyable. |

All this mod is is a sampled in copy of one of the original Animaniacs songs. To be quite honest it was a waste of time uploading, as its poorly looped and had glitches all the way through. If i remember correctly, Modarchive's conditions specifically said not to sample in whole songs (go read in the Unfilteres Uploads section of the archive). Although its a humerous song, it does nothing more that play badly for a really short time (like 29 seconds). A nice try, but its not a remix, its not original and its certainly not worth bothering over. Awful sample quality with looping glitches everywhere. No effects used, no originality and defilitly no artisit skills involved here. Overall: If it had been made a remix with some new ideas and variations, may be also with some better quality samples, then it would have been far more entertaining. As it is, it's a waste of space. |

This is completly cool remix (rewrite) of the origninal music by BBE. For those who like the original "Seven Day & One Week" then this is for you. There is a little bit of variation put into this as it has a few extra melody riffs with some techno-flute sounds and a new drum beat progression towards the end. There are also some vocals included to liven things up a bit, they sound great with this mod aswell. About 2/3rds of the way through it goes a bit thin on texture but has a nice mellow syncopated pad bouncing the techno beat through until the drums and other accompinent arrive at the departure lounge. The mod ends quite suddenly, but at least it suites the tune. Overall: An excellently written tune thats got some nifty ideas incorporated. A must for those who like techno music and definitly for those who like the original. Lots of echo, panning and dynamic changes use here. Its got the punch and whack of the original tune with a few extra perks added as bonus. The tracking layout is neat and tidy with instument having its own track (more or less). The samples are wonderfully clean, except for the "techno-sounding-flute" which has a nasty looping section at the very end... it sounds awful and could do with being dropped out. You can really hear this, so it does matter. Overall: a well done mod that is well written and sounds nearly perfect. I have hard other mods by this artist, they are more or less as good as this, keep and ear/eye out. |
