Huh. This version of the song has been tampered with. It's supposed to have lyrics (of a sort).

Looking at the file itself, the lyric samples are still there. However, for whatever reason, the instrument data has been completely muted for every line. I wonder… who did this? And why?

That aside, it's a pretty standard House tune. Just some beats and the occasional bop. That's about it.

Doesn't stop this from being a really great grove [sic], mind. I just figured it was worth mentioning~

There's a mildly-interesting story that goes along with this particular FastTracker II module…  This song was made specifically for me!

Waaay back in 2003 or 2004, I think it was, I was running a LiveJournal community that was, basically, a tracker music blog where people could share their favorite songs.  I don't exactly know what led to it or how, but at some point, someone just randomly sent me a mysterious file simply labeled "zoqfot.xm".  I guess they noticed I was a fan of Star Control II? (Go play it.  It's fantastic.)
In any case, I give it a listen and… wowie!  What a great little tune!  It took what Dan Nicholson did and made it funky!  Needless to say, I proudly posted it up on the blog, post-haste!

I wish I could remember who this kind person was.  They didn't leave any kind of calling card in the module, sadly, and even the title got cut off in the music info.  All I remember is that I really liked this tune and that it was called "All About The Frungy".

I hope you guys like this little tune about some little dudes!

Here's a fun fact: the beginning half of this piece of music was the main inspiration for "Streetwize," a song from Jazz Jackrabbit 2 by Alexander Brandon (aka, Siren). Wonder if Otis knows…?

That aside, this is a really nice tune. Good for relaxing and great for just listening to. The electronic synths and simple drums work in its favor and, after the half-way mark, the song even changes to something entirely different! I highly recommend this tune.

When was this made? This is very important because… this was used as the basis for "Castle City," in the unreleased Jazz Jackrabbit 3D. Well, more like the whole song was used and enhanced. But, still! That blew me away, when I heard it on Nectarine Demoscene Radio, a minute ago!

I don't usually give such high scores, but I really feel that Mr. Gillet hit it outta the park with this particular song!

Although the title reminds me more of bands like KISS, this piece of music is actually a really great techno song with lots of energy. The simple samples are used to perfection and the song is fairly lengthy with plenty of variation. It's a lot of fun to listen to and really gets you pumped! I love it.

There's also an... "alternate version" ("lips & tongues b&b") available which is just as good, by the way. Especially if you like a certain cartoon duo from the 90s... Uh huh-huh huh. Yeah.

Heard this on one of Joel's Vinesauce streams, recently. He was playing something that used the SNES-sation emulator, which uses this theme Immediately recognized it as module music, looked it up, and lo and behold, here it is!

This is a really groovy track by azazel of DCS. It's dance music, but it's not overbearing or bombastic. It's just high-energy and a lot of fun to listen to. On top of that, the samples he used sound great and are used to perfection. It kind of reminds me of some of Tim Follin's work on the Super NES... which makes its use as SNES-station's menu theme all the more fitting, I feel.

I'd definitely recommend this song for playlists or if you just want something catchy to chill out with.

This song is basically the entire Mega Man 2 soundtrack as heard in The Wily Wars, but with better samples and mixing. Now, this in and of itself doesn't sound so bad... but considering that the song ends up being over 22 minutes long and is transcribed in such a way as to exclude pattern breaks and jumps... it can be a little tedious to listen to. And this is coming from a guy who loves the Mega Man series!

Still, if you don't mind the length, this is a pretty good way to experience the whole Mega Man 2 soundtrack in one sitting. I just really wish JLsoft had transcribed this like old Amiga tunes; with "sub-songs," and the like.

This tune, by Fabrice Gillet, seems to take some heavy inspiration (and plays homage) to some other tunes created in the same time period. One such tune is "3d demo tune," by julius. That one plays right at the beginning and toward the end, in fact.

Anyway, this is a really nice, mellow tune that befits Apregiator's usual style. It's a good piece of music to listen to while you're chilling out and relaxing. I'd definitely recommend it.

So, hey? You're all familiar with Purple Motion's "Satellite One," right? If not, go give it a listen! I'll wait for ya!

Now then... Satellite One is one of those pieces of music that's just a lot of fun to listen to. Knowing that... Alexander "Siren" Brandon decided to do a version of it, himself, which you can also find here. Six years after that amazing version came out, though... Xaser decided to take what Siren had... and make it even better. And... I can safely say that he did indeed improve upon perfection.

Siren's version of the song was missing some of the later parts of the original, as well as some countermelodies here-and-there. Xaser added these, as well as about a minute more content, to the song. He also rebalanced the volume ever-so-slightly to give a fuller experience.

I cannot recommend this version enough. It's very much worth a listen or two!

I've always been a huge fan of Purple Motion's "Satellite One." The melody is haunting and heavily reminds me of "Within These Castle Walls," the final area theme from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. It's just a great song to listen to.
Now, I've always been interested in remixing it, myself, but never got around to it... so when I noticed this remix existed, I naturally had to give it a listen.

I am blown away by this remix.

It takes the original, haunting sort of song and turns it into a smooth sort of groove that you can just sit back and get lost within. The composition is just perfect, the samples are really nice, and overall, it's a really great version of an already great song. I'd definitely recommend it.

This is a pretty nice piano-only rendition of "Arthur's Theme (The Best That You Can Do)," the main theme from the Dudley Moore movie "Arthur." It's a little quiet (actually, very quite) and seems like it stumbles a little here and there (not unlike Arthur himself), but otherwise, everything sounds about right.

All and all, it's a pleasant tune to listen to when you're caught between the moon and New York City... or just want to relax for a while.

This is actually track #2 from Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales on the Atari Jaguar, the soundtrack of which was done by Alastair Lindsay and Kevin Saville.

The samples are what you'd come to expect from FastTracker II modules of the time and they're arranged in a very pleasant way. This tune is mighty jazzy piece of work that's just enigmatic enough to fit in with the maddening and mysterious world of Wonderland.

Even if the game was a bit sub-par, this song... and the rest of the soundtrack... are pretty great.

Ah, good ol' Pink to Puke. If you've ever played the MegaZeux game called "Cans", you'll be all too familiar with this mellow tune... and mellow is certainly what it is.

Despite being a tune that came out in 1993, it lacks the usual MOD samples you might be familiar with and goes for a mix of some nice, short, good-sounding synths and real instruments. Bips and boops, small guitar riffs, and light drums make for a nice melodic tune. All and all, this is the kind of thing to listen to while doing other things. Kind of like a song from Mario Paint or something.

The title would have you believe it's a remix of "DK Island Swing," but in actuality, it's a really awesome remix of "Aquatic Ambiance." Honestly... I cannot say enough good things about this module.

It takes the original song and gives it a kickin' back beat without raising the tempo too much. The synths and electronic samples really work for this rendition of the song, as do the rhythmic way Jeff tossed in vocal samples from the original game. And best of all... it's not a bombastic remix. It's just smooth, groovy, and energetic. I love it.

I think this is definitely something that would appeal to electronic/dance fans even if they've never heard of Donkey Kong Country.

Basically, it's your normal, everyday James Bond opening/credits theme song... but with a slight twist. It's kind of a parody of sorts with an ever-so-slight innuendo-driven undertone. There's nothing explicit in the lyrics, but at the same time, it's pretty clear what was intended.

As for the music itself? Pretty darn good. I'd say it's definitely up there with The Living Daylights theme by A-Ha (or the S3M cover available here), at least!

A very enjoyable listen I can easily recommend to anyone with who likes wordplay.

The analysis reads as follows:

Subject: Yehat Theme -- Army REMIX.
Data: Someone by the handle of "Obsetrver of the GTSC4" took it upon themselves to try and add on to Riku Nuottajarvi's original Yehat theme from Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters. However, whoever this "Obsetrver" is clearly had no formal knowledge of music and just piled-on a bunch of echo and extra drum samples "so it doesn't sound so old and pathetic."
Summary: Our scientists aren't real sure what the creator of this thing was going for, but they all agree: They missed the hell out of the mark.

That's the end of our scientists' report.

One of three (?) unused songs for the freeware game simply known as "HEROES". (It's an acronym for "Horses Enjoy Riding Over Empty Spaces".) This one pretty much says it all in the description... and I agree. It's a very lovely tribal-style song suitable for a volcanic wasteland. I also appreciate the fact this song isn't high-intensity, like most "volcano" or "fire-lands" songs tend to be.

I'm actually in direct disagreement with the 3/10 comment for this piece of music. It mostly consists of a drum beat and bouncy synth sample with a couple of "yeah" samples played in a pleasant rhythm and a couple of breakdowns within the song itself. This may make it a simple module file, but I personally find it charming. The quotes from Plan Nine from Outer Space used at the start and finish of the song are kind of fun, too.

This song was actually used in the Megazeux game "Cans III", which is how I stumbled upon it. It's a melodic, uplifting piece written by Ted Falkowsky.

The song uses some low-size SAM samples you've probably heard in other Protracker modules. It's also a little repetitive in a way, but has a good build-up with a satisfying "chorus" and is just a lot of fun to listen to. Sadly, this isn't a song that's built with looping in mind, but it does have a nice ending regardless.
