One of Syphus' absolute best tunes, and devastatingly awesome when played live. It's just so darn good that even this bare-bones module version is worth a listen, and it loops wonderfully. The live version from the 2008 Blip Festival (http://2playerproductions.bandcamp.com/track/pennies-fuelship) is, of course, much better, to the point that it's my second-favorite chiptune of all time, as well as the best rock-out 8-bit track I've ever heard. Syphus rocks. |

Dreamfish does such a masterful job with this MOD conversion of Rob Hubbard's classic that it's at least as good as--if not better than--the original. Absolutely fantastic work. Its inclusion in the legendary freeware game "Seiklus" only adds to its brilliance. Download and listen to all the way through immediately. |

Not my favorite Arlen tune. The rhythm seems offbeat, and the song is unnecessarily long, with a melody that isn't too admirable. |

Very nice, chord-progressive chiptune. The theme is well made, and I was actually reminded of Zelda for some reason. All in all a very nice listen; you don't hear this type of soft, happy chiptune too often in MODs these days. |

Classic Radix. Happy, talented melody with some nice tracking work. The percussion is particularly well done. And that melody... happy, otherworldly, great. Nice work. |

Listening to this, maybe you wouldn't assume it's the simplest chiptune in the world, but a look at how it was tracked bears testament to the actual simplicity of it. Yet another talented melody is introduced here, and even though the ending is rather fast, it works. |

Classic example of what Radix accomplished with simple formats and simple samples combined with talented, heartfelt melodies. The intro melody is the highlight of the song, and even though the rest of the song doesn't fare as well, it's still a solid chiptune overall from one of the best chip musicians of all time. |

Ghidorah's "From Summer to Winter" is a mystical and otherworldly masterpiece. I initially discovered it from its use in the freeware Game Maker game "Illegal Communication", and have since continued to listen to the song outside of the game which used it. This is possibly the best chiptune that Ghidorah ever created. Nice effort in tracking combined with a great intro melody and a nice, ethereal feel. Give it a listen and hear for yourself. |

Blend of 8-bit chiptune samples and techno-drums. Some nice percussion work here. Overall it's an okay little unique chiptune. |

Nice work with just one sample. Piano-esque, background-style chiptune. |

Radix's "Rainy Summerdays" is, simply, one of the finest tracked chiptunes ever made. A happy, cheery melody is accompanied by one basic drum sample and some great arpeggios--and the "verse" part of the song, if you will, is extremely well done in addition. The tune has four channels and is in MOD format--simple but good. It also has a fantastic ending and is long enough to be played without looping. One negative is that the melody can seem out of rythem with the percussion. Overall though, "Rainy Summerdays" is a masterpiece. Thank goodness that the modern tracked-chiptune world has a master to inspire so many others like Radix. |

Here is a beautiful little gem from the apparently great combo of Wiklund and Malmen. What is contained within "Rabbit Outfits" is a nice Radix/Cerror-type tune with a ton of channels and a nice ambient sub-melody accompaniment that just works. The tune does seem to lose ground later in, but it ends well. |

Here is a sad little tune from an inexperienced but talented chiptune musician. Taking into account that "Lullaby" is The Calculus Dragon's second completed original, it is especially good. Accurate harmonies, good bass, fade-in. The strings start out rough but then gain momentum as the song progresses. This definitely isn't a master work here, and the chip ends rather abruptly, but it's still above average considering the inexperience. |

For your first completed original, this is pretty good. Some nice percussion done with just one drum sample, the harmonies work, and it's even full-length. Keep on chippin', buddy! :) |

A nice chip-mix here, although it's the 16-bit samples that take center stage rather than the 8-bit. Great job putting that drum sample in lower octaves to create the djembe sound. Overall a pretty good tune with a lot of work put into it. |
