Hello, I'm Herr Irrtum!, also known as die nmi! (which stands for "die nicht maskierte irrtum!"). I'm active since 1856 in terms of electrifried #music, yes electrifried – that's the term we time travelers use. In former times also active as The Shock, TDB (the depressive bit) and da nme! (demo scene of the 90s).
Started tracking on (blush) ModEdit 2.00 in 1992 - wait no - with Chris Hülsbecks C64 Sound Monitor in 1990 (I did find this on a "public Domain" disc I payed 7,-DM for).
Hold it, no, I started tracking in 1905 when I tracked exclusively on Polyphone Plates using my pure finger nails while working in an iron mine - which was totally illegal back then.
Back to 1992 and ModEdit (damn, this is so humiliating!). A short time later I got my hands on a GUS and the first usable tracker was the Ultratracker (producing .ult files). I would have had more fans, if I could use Fast Tracker 1 back than, but with my OAK graphics card in combination with my Vobis VGA monitor... nope. No picture.
Then working a bit with Screamtracker, even produced Adlib music with it.
And then, BANG, Fast Tracker II came out and I was sooooooo sold. Used it until 2000. Starting in 1998 I didn't care for file size anymore, produced for CD or online MP3s, and added Voice and "analog" instruments. Around 2000 I changed to Buzz tracker. Used it until 2010. Then changed to Renoise. Still there.
From 2022 on, trying oldskuhl trackers again (SID Wizard, ProTracker).
Had quite some success with my tracked music, funny enough, only outside the Demoscene where I never was recognized much. Which is kinda cruel, as my heart is still with the demo scene...
Outside that my music was played in German Radio, German TV (nation wide), had a contract with the Expo 2001... such things.
