This song started as a follow up to "September, utilizing the same
samples, but with some minor changes. I had a couple of samples in the
beginning that said things like "Eagle, you're looking good" and "Clear
for landing." I let a friend listen to it, and she suggested that it have
entire theme of space quotes and what not. Well, I dug up some cool
samples, and decided to dedicate a song to America's newest old heroes,
the Apollo 13 Crew.
All of these voice samples were pulled from various sites, and are actual
transmissions between the Apollo 13 Spacecraft and Houston. The other
samples came from other places, some were ripped from others, and some
were yanked off one of my keyboards.
Sorry about the file size on this one...I hope it was worth the download!

Wow, I really like this song. I was first surprised by the length (9:21) and first impressed by the great, very catchy, bell rhythm throughout. I also like the space vocal and progressive transitions at the beginning (listen from :38-:43 for a great cutoff). The bell rhythm expands at 7:55, and then a sub-bell rhythm that sounds eerily like One Scotch Long unfolds. I don't know if this seems to far out, but I get a distinct feel of rhythms and styles from the 60's-70's era, the time at which Apollo *13* launched! I had mentioned in my first revision of this review that it was too long, but naw, it deserves to be this long. Crisp, clear, mostly 8-bit samples. The bell (what kind of bell I'm not sure, no instruments were listed) is exceptional. Panning is used effectively as the mid-range hum-like sound throughout does at 7:15. A scant 13 channels are used properly also.
