When you're just starting up in composing music, you have to be prepared for a fight for your creative work. You're beginning from the blank pattern and finally your tune is over. The reviewers will have no mercy for you after you've uploaded your tune. And feel nothing personal. It's impossible to judge objectively, but this composition have to be seriously re-mastered. The melody is too simple and has not enough arrangement for this style. The overall impression is very important for the final rate. And I'm remembring this tune as too simple and straight. Nice try, curious fragements - it's not so bad, but it's too hard to listen again. That's the point. No doubt, the whole composition is unbalanced. The main theme is surpassing backround arrangement and beats, volume level is overamplified. Panning at the beginning is too sharp and too quick. It's very hard to hear some details in general sound line and that's bad.

It's really nothing to say. I can't classify this composition exactly, because it's not a sample of pure style. The listener will find a hot mix of several different styles - something from trance, something from industrial or even rap. It sounds powerfully and depressing - nice choice for someone's extermination during the multiplayer combat. But the main bass line is very monotonous - adding more variety could enhance this tune. The sound line is clear enough - I've found no secondary noises or sample craps. I was listening this tune with XMplay (MOD settings: sinc interpolation, sensitive ramping, surrounf is turned off and playback mode is set to FT2) and there were no peaks of amplification, playback corrupptions or something else. There are several mistakes with samples panning, cause I can't say it is great idea to move hihats into the depth of stereo channel.

I honestly don't even know where to begin with this song. Given the size of the file, I was expecting something at least mediocre. Instead, what I heard sounded worse than a 4th grade orchestra full of kids who've never touched an instrument before. This song has the simplicity of "Chopsticks" but with none of the charm. It honestly sounds like it was written by someone who has never used a tracker before. There are just some songs that should have stayed on their creators' harddrives and never been released. OK, the file is in XM format, yet it only has four channels and only uses three. The samples are actually really nice, but not the way they're used here. Each note chops off like it was hacked with a knife. I honestly have to say that this is probably THE worst mod I've ever heard. I honestly hope that the artist did not take this piece seriously.

As for me, one of the most important part of someone's (including my own) tune has to be named "variety". Just a simple, but hard rule: either playback length and arrangement variety must be linked. Otherwise the tune will sound very boring. This tune meets my vital requirement. Interesting and alluring begining supersedes with frisky continuation, which ends in a fairy style. So we've got a variety here. Truly said, this "noisy" variety is not a real problem for talented musician. The problem is how to link different parts of the tune. Corwin dealed well with this, except the link from tune's startup synth pads roll to its continuation - I've found this sounding a little dissonant. All melodies of this tune sounds nice and harmonic, bells are good choice. is off, surround is off, ProTracker 1 playback mode) According to author's comments, this tune was finished in 1999. I can't say that 8 channel MOD is a good choice even for those times. Nevertheless format potentials was used with skill, so the result phonation is harmonic and clear (considering 8-bit samples). This could be an attempt to build a surround depended sound, but drums line has been over moved to one the stereo channels. My first review at MODArchive ends here. I hope, you'll enjoy it as I was enjoying listening this module. :)

This song starts out kind of dreamy atmospheric, and then becomes an atmospheric jazz piece later in the song. There is a little repetition, especially on the later jazz end of the tune, but the excellent sample quality and the use of many different effects and the great ending of the song make it an excellent piece of music! The introduction part of the music even sounds a little out-in-space. Adding a heavy beat helped the song bring itself in to a jazzy style later in the piece, although the beat began at the very beginning. The sample quality in this song is just awesome. It isn't necessarily a small IT, but the sample quality to file size ratio is excellent. The bass quality of these samples is great, and this song is one of very few that plays well both with and without a subwoofer to bring out the bass. The song is rather long, which I think contributed a bit to the amount of repetition that I encountered. The repetition wasn't straight out obvious, but you could tell it was there. Some of the style from the beginning comes back at the end, as well, and although this is a cool effect - starting more atmospheric, becoming jazz, and then back to a sort of jazzy/atmospheric - I think it created a bit of repetition near the end of the tune. The use of pianos and strings in jazz music may sound a little weird, but it sounds cool! A bit more work could have been done with crediting samples and instruments, if they were borrowed at all, and giving more comments about the music, also.

Nice standard chord progression to start although the instrument isn't great. Nice simple melody comes in with a bass. More changes in the song would be a big improvement as the same chord progression repeats throughout. Sample quality is not spectacular. The brass instrument sticks out a bit in it's solo parts. The chord progression is overused and there is no ending, the song just stops.

Very melodious. Distinctive lead blends in nicely with the tune. Be sure to let it go on after 3:58, there's more Cyclone knows how to make very good piano solos. Song loops perfectly. Sample are all 8 bit since S3M can't handle 16 bit samples. Samples are well picked and go well together. Some samples sometimes crackle. This song is best played through ScreamTracker or Impulse Tracker. Other modplayers don't seem to be able to play this song properly. Be sure to pay this song in stereo as S8X commands and MOD protracker panning effects are widely used throughout this song.

This is a nice and relaxing song with only 2 channels, i find it hard to put so many instruments in a line, but still, a good song. This artist should try to use more channels for a greater effect than it is already, but it takes not away that he produces other good songs with more channels.

This is a song with a little mystic in it, but the cymbal is coming up to loud. The next time try to make every instument as loud as all the others. This artist should put his name by his song, also the songname. For the rest it is just nice. Try the next time not to cut off a song, but just let it fade away

This song is good for the opening or finishing an Ambient party or for a game. It seems to go on slow, but then after a few minutes, it becomes an interesting piece of music, altough it is a long one and you should hear it not more than once or twice, else it becomes boring. A cmpliment to the artist. A good use of instruments and a lot of effects in it, but i like the beginning and end, but maby he should let it fade in/out for a more continuing rhytm.(hehehe, just this is also good)

It's a good song, altough, very short, but the maker was creating a nice and relaxing song. Remember the next time not to finish so quickly. it's the easy way to cut off a song like that. This artist can become a great one in a trance party, but then there is the other site, that makes him go back on his feet, but if he puts more time in his work, i reilly think he can do it better.

Swirly sounding tune. At the start of the song it sounds at first not as a cool tune, cause the intruments are not tuned to eachother, but it has in the middle a fine touch, but seemed to quickly finished off. This artist should his samples tune more to eachother. Some samples are reilly out of their range, but the endresult is just ok, but better try longer to pick your samples.

This song is OK if you like trance music. The lack of any real beat makes it a bit boring, and it could also do with a proper melody. You just keep waiting for the song to start properly, it just sounds like one long introduction. There are some nice samples here, and effects are used well to create the trance style. The artist has left 56(!) extra patterns in this song which have been unused, which could have been deleted to save space.

The base rythm and the melody in this song really are superb - it makes you want to listen over and over. Unfortunately the song is way, way too short. If it was double this length it would probably have scored a perfect 10. The samples chosen are exactly what a song of this type should use. Some of the drums sound a little distorted, but apart from this the samples are of a good quality. The length really is the only thing that lets this song down.

The best word to describe this song is repetitive. Everything repeats at some point throughout the song - the melody, the bass, the drums, the boredom... At least there is the basis of a tune here. For the style of song, the samples work well together. The song desperately needs some more unique patterns to avoid the repitition mentioned above.

At the beginning this song is very repetitive, but as it progresses it improves. There is a good soft drum beat through the majority of the song, and this mixes well with the trance style. This song is too long (14 minutes!). However, the samples mix very well, and they are all of a high quality. At the start the same patterns are repeated over and over, but later on there are a wider variety and the song becomes more interesting.

This song has no real melody - is consists mainly of drums and other bass instruments. It would benefit a lot from a tune set over the current song - otherwise the song just gets boring. The samples do all fit together well, but they are all drums or bass instruments of some kind, which makes the song sound very repetitive. However, at least none of the samples sound out of place.

This 158 BPM, fastbeat and dark trance-track is quite good. This is pure trance, not pop-trance. Has a dark and theme-sounding atmosphere with nice sollutions. Even for being progessive, its just too repetetive. I like the bass and beats, but it could have been done more interesting as a whole. The title suits the music really good. With more stereofeeling to it and some remastering, this track would have sounded quite pro. The drop-out of beat at ca. 1:00 to master in one of the melodies could have been better, as this sounds a bit out-of-time. But generally this track makes you want to groove and you feel like being the "king of earth", just the way trance has a tendence to make you feel. With some more punch and variating scheme-pattern, this would have been really cool. Technically this is average and shows off with fundamental technics. But as the technics making a tune is just as interesting as glue, I don't really mind how a song is being accomplished, just it sounds good. The beat-samples and loops are cool, the melody-sounds is a bit out-of-fashion, but still sounds okay. With some effects and cheezy build-ups, this track could have been great, but its sounds a bit unfinished. A cool trip to the Valley of Trance, though.

The composer presents with this tune a wild and really interesting metal-influenced tune with great melodies, nice build-ups and of many variations which keeps the track interesting all the way. Some chilled parts with cheezy outcomes! The composer shows off with great musical expertise and of sweet tracking. Some of this reminds me of Children of Bodom, with great riffs and melodies, also solos; and some electronical samples to peak this tune just the right way. At some parts, it could have been more relaxing, its a bit stressing! Could have fitted as game-music! Overally great work! There's nothing to say about the technical introduction of this tune; everything seems clean, no flaws, and the way panning is set at "critical" points are great. The samples are really okey, but since I'm listening to this with headphones I miss more stereo-sounds to it. Anyways, with speakers and high volume, I think this will be a blow-off!

Basically, someone decided that they would redo the theme tune of the show The A-Team, only this time, it would have a very annoying techno beat behind it, and have one line of melody and one brief line of harmony, all entirely done with a sawtooth synth sound. They didn't even include the second part of the song. Moving on. It has 5 different patterns, and goes on waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. A harmony note is accidentally left going, and results in the most horrible dissonance you've ever heard. No effects/panning/volume used, except for a brief volume slide down at the end. Yay.

A pretty dull module, to my mind. Dirty samples, no dynamics, very monotonous rythm makes you sleep at the beginning of the second minute. The "melody" is abstract and looped, so I got no pleasure at all. Maybe you will... The module was made up using standard technics based on loops and isn't really worthy. Just recommendation: DON'T download it if you want another piece of unexpressive monotonous "fast-made" "production". ;-(

Woo, an ambient DnB number. Sounds like what you've heard before... and yet, it's nicely fresh and new. Nothing really standing out here musically, but it all works together to create a great ambient tune, though it almost sounds like trance. Nice drums (and bass...) and great synths. I have no idea what the title has to do with anything. Doesn't seem sad in the least. Good work here. Nice use of volume controlling effects. Speed control, when used well, always gives a nice feel to a tune, and this one does it well. I don't really like unused tracks, and this has some in certain places. A couple I don't think are used at all... I could be wrong. Overall, a solid song that may sound like the rest of 'em, but still worth listening to.

Chip all the way, dudes. 14kb, 1:16 mins long, and the arpeggios... oh, the arpeggios! This one has plenty of 'em. Music to my ears. Very nice song here. First of all, it loops very well, as all chiptunes should. Arpeggios dominate this one, as I said. The lead comes in at :30, with some nice pitch slides. A square bass backs up the whole thing nicely. If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a C64 blasting out this tune... :) 4 tracks here, naturally. Lots of arpeggio, as stated previously, in tracks 3 and 4. Portamento and vibrato is used in the lead, creating some great pitch slides. Good chip samples, with no extra blips or snaps. Overall, very nicely done and a joy to listen to.

A very nice sounding track here, and it sounds nothing like what its name suggests. Not repetative at all, at least not more than a techno tune usually is. A nice dance beat, backed up by a nice pounding bass and snare. Around :56, there's a synth lead that doesn't sound quite on key with the rest of the song, but otherwise the tune is pretty solid. Not too exciting here. Not really any problems that I could see, however. I didn't see many effects used. Mainly volume changes and a fade with the percussion at one point. A few tracks aren't even used. It has 23 tracks, and I don't think it needed any more than half that.

This song tend to be anoying most of the time, unfortunately. There are a quite lack of independent, quality-sounding notes; and thereby it can't be any good. It's a 4-channel module, and it's therefor very hard to get a decent sounding feel to it (there are very good 4-channel songs, but they are done often by professionals). The drums, or percussion, would have needed both a regularly use of a kick and snare to punch down the beat; this module got overused hihats and are quite repetetive all the way with fabrical volume-pitching. The snare which is used seems to be tracked randomly. The baseline are octave-based, and got no breakpoints with any unique sounding to it. Strings got nothing special to it, except that its too volumed. The flute-melody, is infact quite cool and addictive, fits quite well along the side with the baseline:) Corrections and suggestions for the composer: If you're only willing to make 4-channel modules, fine; but you should consider to use more channels, don't make the music too noisy, a basedrum SHOULD be presented (the basedrum got many sides and affects every songs right from the basic), you should also think of that you don't need to fill in every note within the pattern; some breaks with silence and presentations of parts of the song has a good effect and makes the tune variated. And try to choose more creative samples! Technically, there are no risks taken. Only effects used are volume-sets and volume-slides, else then that theres none. Don't think that a song is good if it looks complicated, its the actual SOUND thats important, but by using some effects you got a few more tons of possibilities. Samples are not good; very old and electronic feeling to it. Some of them are too loud and should be overally modified; especially the strings. No panning = no stereo. Mark to composer: learn and experience how the effects could be used for getting more unique sounding, and find more elegant and "glammy" samples! Listen to more music (of high quality) and think of what have been done. With a better presentation of the musical, everything could hear decent. Gain more experience with trackers. To the audience: I have to say that this tune is not that downloadable and/or too listenable. But to the composer: Better luck next time, and practise makes master!

This is a song that I've been listening to for a while. Chillzone got the perfect, flawless sound to it. With great ease, its atmosphere and beats sounds like an electric, yet groovy adventure. It starts off with a fade in between a bassline, raids and Norfair's typical chord-sweep. Within the volume get its peak, a fantastic drum fill-in accomplishes the song to start off right. High groove-factor all the way thru, very good and kind of jammed melodies that with-in the ear sounds perfect. As for the top musical-feel the melodies feels too well build up actually. Bassline is absolutely incredible, the parts between the take-offs are just stunning and cheesy, all the way thruout the tune. Except from the tempo, which is pretty high all over, this tune reminds me of the best tunes in Transport Tycoon and that kind of games. The song are great both as back-ground music and the tune you just dance and groove to or just sitting, hearing the cheeses within this song gives. I've listening to most of Norfair's songs, and this is absolutely my favourite; and I think it's Norfair's opinion as well. Tunes like Dreamplay and Paranoia High are also just great, but Chillzone got the best elements from all his songs, mixed into one piece of stunning musical experiments, jams and technical flawless. The best thing would be, just to download this song and think of why I haven't heard this before. Technically, this is quite perfect. Sounds are both small and yet of excellent quality, well picked out. I especially loved the drums and the bass. The melodies I know by experience that Norfair handles them well, so the most interesting is the organizing, drums and bass (or the groove). No flaws that you can hear of (thats the most important). I like the way Norfair pans the sounds, but not too stereo, could be better that way; but as a tracked module, its pretty amazing. Cheeses of technical quality thruout the whole song. I would like to congrat Norfair for he's Chillzone; and thanks for many minutes of total groove in my ear. The peak of composing is this one, in my mind. And to all viewers and listeners: downloading this tune will not make you regret it!

This is a dance track that you would typically hear in a club that played semi-commecial music. It's got all the elements that make up your usual dance track, which might be its one negative point. It doesn't really do anything new. You've got your filtered strings that do a little chord progression, your pounding drums/percussion...etc... Also, near the end, it seems like Acecream ran out of ideas, and also, it seems incomplete in a sence because of a quick fade-out. The rest does make up for it however, and in the end, you are left with a good solid dance track. Technically, it's very professional, and it ends up sounding about as high-quality as mods can. Excellent job here. Song length: 4:18mins

Tune starts with nice string patterns, which repeats almost all the way till the end. So I guess strings could have more variation, or some phaser effect or something. Now I get really bored with them. After few string patterns, guitar shows up. A bit downpitched for my taste. But it fits nicely. Then comes drums and bass guitar and even more drums and so on. Song sound quite repetive, perhaps lowering/rising semitone melodies would work here fine. Song itself is really easy listening, but more variation is definently needed to keep me interested, sorry. Not bad, not good, I give this song 7.5. P.S. Song is nicely named =) Samples sound a bit old, especially that oboe sample. Even though they are good samples, but when I've heard them in dozen songs, they start to annoy me. Big plus for naming the original authors. Guitar samples are quite good though. Samples fit in this song, but they sound old.

Song is very richly composed. Everything seems to be in control and in rhytm. Especially I'm impressed by use of timpani and snare. Fantastic use of strings makes this song really easy to listen and is at the same time really professional and enjoyable. Song itself sounds as it's named. Really strong and aggressive, like prelude to war. I easily forget that I'm listening to tracked song. It reminds me about "Christopher Franke". Could be soundtrack to new Babylon 5 =) Melodies are enjoyable. What I really miss is some flute samples or oboe or something. But anyway, great orchestral song. I give it 9.5 Sample use; Plenty of samples, for example, there are many many strings with different filters, or mixing. Fantastic use of them! Overally clean technical song.

Ah, chiptunes... It's refreshing to hear a well-done chiptune now and then. This one certainly doesn't disappoint. It's four tracks, and only 1:32, and pretty much the same throughout. It's not really repetative, however, and it switches between different themes throughout the song. It sounds like it could be in an old C64 or Amiga game or demo... Great use of effects in this one. I really like the way the volume is controlled to make it sound just right. The vibrato is used quite a bit, but it helps to give the song the right sound. The samples are a bit old sounding, as you would expect, but nothing that doesn't sound right. In short, I really love the song! :)

I classified this as "Jazzy" because it seems to have that kind of feel, for the most part, using a piano, some nice trumpets, a violin, and a great drumbeat. At about 2:38, it goes into a sort of classical violin part. Then at 3:30, it goes back to the jazzy sound. There isn't a lot of variation in the song, and it can be a bit repetative. Overall, though, it's a pretty good song, though not overly interesting. Pretty good technically, though not that exciting. The fades that were used work, though I don't notice them much. There are some points when the notes are cut short, where I would have used a fade instead. The samples are all good as well. Overall, a good mod, though it could use a bit of work.

I like the song very much, but I'm curious, why the artist choosed to make it with Protracker. The song is little bit repetitive, but the music is really good and it has nice solos too... I like the samples, especially the voices. I don't like the parts of the song, where the crash cymbal is played on low tones - that sounds very bad and unrealistic... Generally the tech rating is very good and lot's of effects are used - that says, that the artist is very well introduced to the effects in the *.mod's and *.xm's. Keep up the good work, umal!

A very nice techno/rave type module. The song is pretty much the same sound throughout, but does well to not be repetative. It's not really a melodic tune, since there isn't really a lead, but songs like this rarely are. The main samples are pretty much just "bleeps" and "blips," and a few scratches, which are put together very nicely to create a cool rave/rock sound. The percussion is nice, though behind the rest of the stuff you usually only notice the bass, but bass is really what matters, right? :D Wow... 32 tracks. That's a bit much. The number is a bit decieving, though, because a few of the tracks were never used. The effects used were very nice. Nice slides, and the volume sets made some very nice sounds in different areas. Samples are all good, though a couple of them are a bit snappy sounding. Three drumloops seems a bit much, but they're used well, so who am I to judge? Wait... I'm the reviewer... it's my JOB to judge... er, well... then... I judge it a really cool on both musical and technical accounts. :D

I like the song very much, although someone may say the melody is little bit repetitive, I don't think so, because it has enough variations for song with such lenght(2:39). The samples are excellent 8bit samples. I think most of the samples are sampled by the artist himself(especially the Roland synth loops). Elysis did a very good job here. It's a very relaxing song, to say the least. At points, it's almost ambient. It's pretty much the same throughout. There's no real melody. It doesn't really get repetative, though. There is one thing that annoys me about it. There's one sample of a woman saying, "The beaches go straight on and on..." and from about 3:13 to about 5:35, it keeps repeating. At one point, there's almost no instruments playing besides that one. Just a nit-pick from me, though. :) Very well put together technically. Nothing really exciting effect wise, but there are some nice fades. The samples are pretty good quality, though a couple of them are a bit snappy. It's not that noticeable, though. What else can I say here...? I guess, just that it's a good, solid, quality module, so download it. :)

The song is very strange style for me. Anyway it's a good experiment and I like it. I was concerned what grade to place, but I considered it deserves 7, because it's hard to make good song with such small size 29KB... I was amazed that the song is only 29KB, the samples aren't the best, but fit well together, so I think the song is one really good attempt...

This song has quite a good groove to it. It gets moving after only about 20 seconds, so if you are all about first impressions, then you will probably like it. It sounds like something out of an old game (not a bad thing) because of the feel it's got. The bass line and drums are really what keep this song moving. It does get tiresome near the end, since there is not really as much variation as there could be, but still, I think it is definatly worth the download since it's groovy and it is only 30k zipped! The samples even though very small still do the song justice. I think it has been tracked in a thoughtful manner, and sounds very good. (4:21mins)

Here we have a wonderful relaxing Rock/Pop piece. It starts with a bass guitar and just builds: Drums start up and an oboe provides a sort of melody to the start and is then joined by a nicely done sax and strings. Then the artist goes to oboe/guitar/organ/sax/strings and blends them amasingly. Definatly worth the download! The artist really shows talent in this area. The drums are done in a believable way, and are very interesting, not just your average boring boom-chick boom-chick by a long shot :-) . The bass guitar is done extremely well in a very thoughtful manner, and even if you don't like this kind of calm soothing music, it is worth a download just to examine how the artist has done that. The electric guitar solo has also been done very well and it sounds like one of the more realistic guitar solos i have ever heard in the mod format (although the artist could have used a better sample...)

A short (1:22mins) song, but still very nice. At the start, you are greated with a funky synth bass, then a shaker. Strings come in third which adds a wonderful chord progression to the mix. Funky drums sampled from a Kawai K-4 then come in. Then there is a flute type sound that plays in the melody part quite nicely. The artist uses the *.mod format very well, and displays that his knowledge of the tracker environment is very good. In normal words? Download this song!
