Title: A New Dawn

The musical content of 'A New Dawn' is sound, but lacks any real variation, leaving the piece fairly 'stationary'. Hardcore Frase should have taken advantage of some of the good patterns he had and mixed lead lines etc. Whatever, the actual tune is good - but not that good. The overall effect gives for some fairly ambient music. Now, although Frase has not excelled in musical skill - he does in technical. The samples and effects used are excellent and used appropriately throughout. The result is some really nice, gentle, ambient techno sounds. Well worth a listen by everyone...

Hallucinations offers little in the way of surprises - having a steady pace throughout. The instruments do not blend particularly well, although the beat is quite catchy. The artist has not displayed any technical deficiency - although the timing is a little dodgy on some of the lead instruments.

Gronda Grondas main downfall wih this tune is the musical skill. The techical side and sound quality is excellent - but the music as a piece for listening is relatively plain. Gronda Gronda evidently has good technical skills - with high quality samples and appropriate use of special effects.

This is a weird piece mixing a voice sample with the fast techno beat. It has been done quite well, and the tune can catch. However, it is essentially fairly shallow with few changes. (What language is that - and is it about a car!?) This piece demonstrates very good technical skills, with more advanced drum patterns etc. in the background. Special effects have been used appropriately. Good samples too.

At the outset, the song seems promising, with good harmony etc. Although what the song does have is Good, it just hasn't been expanded enough. That is, the lack of sheer lack of variety makes it a quite shallow piece. The lead wind instrument towards the end of the piece does little to help the song - with several mischords and dodgy timing. The samples are clean but there's not much else to say on the technical side.

This is a very weird piece. The beat that starts the song stays with it throughout, with only a few if any variations on the basic theme. Later in the song an organ like lead comes in which, although providing some interest, is not written very well. To summarize; although this sounds good, and is worth a listen, there is very little musical talent involved. The samples used in the beat sound OK. The lead would probably sound good if it were used properly, but it isn't - so I'm afraid there's not too much technical skill here.

The second 'Hallonsoda' is almost indistinguishable from the first. It still lacks depth - having a similar melody backed by an only slightly more extenive drum-line. As before, there is nothing to suggest that Daniel has poor technical skills - but neither is there anything to show that he does.

Very short tune with little depth - just a melody backed by a simple drum line. The melody itself is quite good but as an entire piece this one fails. Sorry Daniel! There is nothing to suggest that Daniel has poor technical skills - but neither is there anything to show that he does.

Avatar has produced a great piece here, teasing you with the long intro, then plunging you right into a great harmony of sounds. The musical skill here is far better than in most other piece I have reviewed so far, with great thought put into the composing. There are plenty of changes too, which are always essential to stop a tune becoming boring after the first few pattern repeats. There is a great display of technical skill here - special effects have been used appropriately and give the song more flare. One slight critiscism is that some of the samples sound amateur-ish.

Bizarre tune. Hectic beat with a strange mix of samples, although the quality of the samples is good. The actual back beat is done quite well but the lead line does not mix with it harmoniously. More time should have been spent on the development of the tune itself rather than the samples and beat. Nice try, but better luck next time Tecon ! Were you 'Half Asleep' when you made it ? :-)

This is an excellent piece with a solid backing line overlaid by equally well written leads. It has all the qualities of a professionally written song - because it is ! If a critiscism HAD to be given though, I would say that the song was a little short. A great showcase of technical skills is displayed throughout the song. The samples are good quality and fit the tune well. Excellent. What more can I say...?
