A good, fast-paced techno chip track. Quite good for only 24K, 4 tracks. Not much melody, but good technique.

Fast drum and snare backing to a slow-paced tune, which starts to get going at about the 2 minute mark. An interesting contrast. Quite liked the guitar at 5 minutes. Technically good, but perhaps a shade overlong.

A very good example of a mellow trance track. Actually, I've heard worse commercial offerings. One to chill to. I find it hard to believe it really is 13 minutes long.

Short and boppy, but rather a thin tune with not much going on. Also sounds unfinished. Stiil, it is under 30K in size. A grudging 3.

This is a textbook example of how to write a comic track. Great timing, good special effects, wonderfully inventive. Sounds like it was done by a professional composer working at Looneytoons.com. One of my all-time personal favorites.

Heavy techno track with some cool vehicle zoom noises and some less cool voice samples (they sound a bit like Jawas, or possibly Muppets :-). Did I mention I like the vehicle zooms? For a 220k 4-track, it is really quite good.

Quite melodic, fine technically, but the theme is just a little too repetitive during the first minute or so. A few more variations in this section of the song would have raised its overall score at least another point. I'd rate it 4-5 to start with, then 6-7 later on. Overall 6

It's quite sweet, but it's a jingle, not a complete tune. I was actually a bit disappointed when it suddenly faded out after about 25 seconds without having gone anywhere. OTOH, quite good samples, and for a 4-track mod, not bad. Still, it's upfront about what it is, calling itself a 'video starter' in the sample text.

Six minutes of relatively mild acid/techno with some asian voice and instrument samples mixed in (although one of the voices reminded me a bit of Tarzan :-). Decent repertoire of musical tricks to add interest. Liked the 'whoosh' sample.

Another track with a slightly sad feel to it. It's only a minute and a bit. Slight feeling that it starts in the middle and then fades out instead of having an end. The bit that's here is fine to listen to, but I'm left wondering where the rest of the piece is.

Unusual chipish piece with some creative use of its samples to give a pretty wierd effect. I suspect most people will be initially non-plussed, then it will either grow on them, or they'll decide they hate it. I find it . . . pleasantly odd.

Fast-paced techno piece. Liked the crowd samples near the start and halfway through. Having hordes of electronic fans applauding your own work is a sneaky trick, but it works quite well. They should have kept going throughout, though, I think. Still, there's plenty going on at all times, and this is only a 4-track piece.

Starts out with a rather heavy-fisted low-pitched piano melody, which sounds like a badly-played real piano (that's mixed praise for you), then lightens up considerably at about 1m-1m30 into quite a pretty piece. A shorter section of the heavy piano at the start (and maybe insert a medium-pitched section in the middle) would have improved the piece considerably. 3 for the first half, 6 for the second.

Well, for a just couple of days' work, this one isn't bad. The intro in particular is rather reminiscent of Van Gelis, esp. his Blade Runner tracks. It's a little rough in the last minute, though. Overall, technically good, melodically good-OK. It starts out an 8, but I think the quality drops in the last minute. With a bit more polish, a 9 or 10 in the making.

Starts manic, then speeds up. Vocals by . . . well it sounds a bit like Porky the Pig. To put it another way, I'm not sure I'm hearing this song at the intended sample rate, even though my player is usually superbly reliable at getting that sort of thing right. Grading what I heard, 2 or 3, plus 1 for being entertainingly silly: Call it a stingy 3. I've left the Genre unclassified for now, but what I heard was Comedy. :-)

Quite melodic piece, mostly piano. Technically well done, nice samples. A bit bland, though. I do like the piano samples, but it is noticeable that the electronic pianist is only playing one note at a time. No chords, just plink plink plink with one finger. There's a wasted shot at an 9 or 10 here.

One of a themed series of 'vikingchild' tracks. I would have expected a 'prophecy' track to be a bit more . . . I dunno . . . /mystical/. This is just a rather cookie-cutter tracker piece. Sounds like an extract from an old video game. Not very Vikingy either - I'd have expected more in the way of ethnic instruments - the synth and snaredrum samples don't really seem to fit :-)

Pastiche of western pop and middle eastern music - except that the only eastern influence it has is a few exotic instrument samples thrown in. Say 2-5% eastern influence at most. 1 point for moderately novel idea, I suppose, but it's just not very well implemented.

Above-average trance track. Started out a bit dull, but the composition was lifted at about the 1:35 mark with a short vocal sample and instrument switch. Ends with a cute flourish. Sounds like bubbles. Without these extra touches the track would have been a dull 3 or 4.
