This is a great sounding module for any format. Phenomenal for a .mod piece. A mellow sound with nice pads and a laid back beat and melody. I enjoyed this one a lot.

I didn't know the original song, so it's a little hard to gauge this one. Tracking technique is excellent. The song itself is, I think, a little long for the material, but definitely worth a listen. Very musical.

A very sophisticated chip tune. It almost seems to mimic the early 80s synth music (a la Beverly Hills Cop). A good listen.

This tune is fantastic! Like a lot of tracked music, it's tough to pick a genre for it. Great sounding samples, and good compositional structure -- it never gets boring. (Although the beat doesn't change much.) I suppose I'd say it has an 80's synth sound to it. There's a lot of attention to detail in this one. I would strongly recommend it.

This module is incredible. Bizarre, compositionally sophisticated, and full of surprises. Find a genre for it if you dare -- I couldn't. Catchy melody, good use of sound effects and vocal samples. A fine example of what computer music can be. Definitely a humorous number, but a huge amount of work must have gone into this.

This one had to get a high rating just for creativity in using the Windows XP sounds as a sample set. On top of that, it sounds really good. The intro is very cool and builds nicely into the main melody, and there's a good bridge. No wonder this one was featured. It's a lot of fun.

A solid atmospheric piece with excellent technique. This song has a little bit of a new age feel to it, and is quite pretty at times, even with the use of some almost acid-style synth lines in parts of the song. There's not much in the way of melodic development, but the sound overall is very good. Interesting piece and well worth listening to.

This is an excellent tune! Good samples, good composition, good sound quality. I'd call it epic tracking electronica, sort in the same vein as Future Crew. Everything works here -- melody lines are layered well for a full sound, and there is very tasteful use of pitch slides and portamento to add feeling to the song. Instrument envelopes are all set up well. The drum tracking creates a good beat, and really adds to the music rather than dominating it. A lot time was probably spent on this one.

Excellent sounding module. Great use of panning envelopes. The sound quality is high level. Drums are basic, but with occasional good breaks and intros. It's a very catchy tune. My criticism of it would be that the same chord progression runs through the whole song without really any break or change. Still, it is very nicely done.

This is a weird, glitchy, and very fun chip-type tune. Although written in xm format, it has a very protracker feel to it. The drums are, to my ears, very different sounding, and the melody is carried by bleepy sounding samples with a fair amount of vibrato. A good degree of variation in the sound for such a short tune. I enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable, and sort of mysterious sounding. I liked the off-kilter drum beat. There are nice changes of instruments and chord progressions that keep the song interesting. The dark-chorus pads in the background add a bit of a malevolent feel to the piece. Pretty cool.

Interesting, slightly sinister sounding chip tune. The composer uses an interesting chord progression that never really resolves. The sound is sort of a cross between Flamenco and heavy techno. Anyway, good fun.

I liked the sounds in this tune a lot. It was well put together in terms of samples and getting a really cool stereo delay sound. I'm always a sucker for the 303. It gets a little monotonous, though, with no real melody or change in the droning bass note throughout. I still enjoyed it a lot, and if you like acid, you'll probably like this one.

Is there such a thing as mellow acid? If so, this is it. Very cool sounding laid-back 303 sound with a shuffle groove. Great delay effect on the lead lines and some nice background stuff. Would have given it a higher rating except the song sounds like it is just getting started and then it's over.

Well, I was all prepared to hate this when it first started, but I warmed up to the song as it progressed. The very beginning sounds like you're in for a fairly amateurish heavy metal track. Fortunately, I kept listening. The song has a lot of variation, with well-written melodic guitar parts, and great drums. There are some nice softer breaks with different (reversed?) sounds. The writer achieves a fairly good stereo sound -- I think through the use of panning envelopes. Good guitar and drum samples. Anyway, if you like the metal sound, this one will not disappoint.

Really enjoyed this little chip tune. The bass line sounds great, and all of the samples are good quality. I noticed that there's a lot of detail in the accompaniment. A lot of thought obviously went into this short tune. I'd recommend it -- it can loop over and over and still be fun to listen to.

Top notch module! I'd call it a heavy synth-pop tune. Saga always seems to get great sound quality out of the limitations of the tracker, and this one is awesome in that respect. Very professional craftsmanship. The samples are layered and panned expertly to provide a rich chorused feel. Musically, it stays interesting throughout the piece, making use of catchy little cells of melody. This piece is solid both from a musical and technical standpoint and I would recommend it highly.

I wanted to post a comment on this just because I thought this was really a nice effort to do something unusual. I enjoyed the dark Western movie feel to the track, and the use of clock sounds, symphonic, choir, and twangy guitar samples. This made the track a lot of fun. The loops in the samples are not very good, however and there is a lot of clicking and a general unevenness to the sound that detracts from the overall effect of the piece. Still, I'll mark it above average because I really liked what the composer was trying to accomplish.

Very acid-trance sound. If you like the 303 synth, you might like this. In looking at the module, it appears that this was substantially built from loops, which is unusual for the .mod format. If the composer built the loops himself, then nice work. If they are commercial loops strung together, then I'm not so impressed. The tune sounds good, though, particularly if you like trance and/or the acid bassline sound.

My criticism of this module would be that it consists only of two 64 row patterns, so there is really not much material here. That said, it sounds extremely good. Somebody obviously put a lot of thought into creating those two patterns. I liked the sound -- there's not just much material there.

Similar to the artist's other work, this is a classic chip-tune synth pop style tune. Technically very proficient, and it sounds great. If you like this one, check out his "1984" -- I thought that was his best one so far. This is also a very solid tune coming from a highly competent artist. His tunes would make a very consistent collection. (The artist seems to use the same sample set in several songs, but they sound good, so why not?)

This song sort of has an 80s college-alternative feel. The beginning is very cool with a catchy background flute\synth pattern and a good hook of a bass line. Samples all sound very good, and there is clever use of the pattern speed effect to create the swing\triplet feel. My criticism of the piece would be that, as cool as they are, the same bass and flute\synth background patterns get a little repetitive and could use some more variation. (Although there is a key change towards the end.) Very fun to listen to.

As far as genre goes, this song definitely has a metal\chip feel to it, with a focus on the use of heavy electric guitar samples. My impression on listening to the first minute of the song was that it was somewhat ordinary, although competently put together. About a minute in, however, the variations on the original material start, with some very fun use and abuse of the guitar samples. The song finishes with a cool organ part. A little on the psychotic side, but definitely entertaining.

This is sort of a melodic trance tune, with very high sound quality. The intro segment is great with a very atmospheric water sound. Then, unfortunately, there is an overlong segue to the beginning of the melody. The melodic section, starting about a minute in, is actually quite good. I wish there had been a little more melody and a little less of the part right after the intro. Anyway, from the composer's comments it would appear to be a work in progress, so perhaps a remix is in order. That said, I very much enjoyed it. It would have probably gotten a 9 if it sounded a little more cohesive. (Of course, what can one expect from a quick compo tune.) Saga-Musix material is always worth listening to and the production quality is usually top class.

I liked this module. It definitely lives up to its Beach-Boy inspiration and recreates their style in tracker form. The composer clearly took a lot of time creating natural sounding music, carefully using volume slides and other effects. Personally, I enjoyed Smiley's Space Funk much more, but this was quite enjoyable.

Very solid chip style tune. I liked it a lot. It has a very frenetic sound, which probably matches the title. The drums are extremely active, and there is very effective use of pitch slides, vibrato, volume changes, and vibrato. I'm not sure quite how to describe it -- melodic chip tune drum & bass? It definitely held my interest and is pretty well structured.

Well, this is an odd one to be sure. I listened all the way through -- lots of interesting use of sound effects and (I think) very long samples. I always look forward to hearing what Jojo has done. From a musical standpoint, I like much of his other music better. This song is more interesting from a technical and construction standpoint. Lots of strange stuff if you listen all the way through. Techno\Orchestral\Voice samples\Effects -- it's all there somewhere.

I'm surprised no one else commented on this one yet. One of the best metal mods I've heard. Some nice details right from the beginning sweep to occasionally using synths instead of guitars for the melody. Also, if you're into realism, this sounds very much like an actual band. Very much recommended, and a must-have if you're a metal-head tracker.

Wow! Obviously a lot of hard work on this one. I'm admittedly not a tough reviewer, but this one blew me away, particularly in light of the difficulties involved in getting this 3/4 piece done in S3M format. Simply sounds great. This is the type of piece that modules exist for -- to give people a chance to listen and a chance to see the music.
