I don't know the original and considered finding and listening to it first. I decided that I did not want to compare it to the original as it migt reduce the enjoyability. Normally I am not much of a metal lover, but this piece was great. Pip descibes it as catchy, and that happens almost from the start of the song.
Technique, Arrangement, Composition (9/10)
Some of the samples could have benifitted from a little multi-channeling to reduce clipping.
Guitar use an volume control was very good and stepped well away from the artificial feel of most trackers.
The song is kept fairly simple and samples are used well in most cases.
The composer has a good ear and really brings across a feeling in the song. Even with no words present the composition has clear-cut highs and lows with high contrast.
Development (7/10)
Since the song is a cover the melodic developement is close to the original. The music carries the listening straight into walls of deep contrast while you enjoy the ride all the way.
Somewhere near the end the is a quieter section where words should be, but so well composed you don't miss them
Creativity (6/10)
It is always hard commenting on the creativity of a cover, but generally I thought the track was well put together. Low creativity marks simply because it is a cover...
Enjoyment (9/10)
Pip says the tune is catchy and so it is. I was humming the tune all of last night, forgot it a little and played it again at high volume volume this morning.
