Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is The Samplifier.

I work with samples, know how to amplify them and I like to keep it simple.
Now you know where that nickname came from.. ;-)

Talking about real life, I was born in the early seventies, got married with a beautifull wife (still my first!) and have two kids. I'm working as a support specialist for a developer of ERP business software.

So, I do a lot with computers and more of that stuff - also private.
You ever heard of guys who combine work and hobby?
Well, I seem to be one of them.. :-)

During the nineties I was quite active with tracking and music editing in my teenage years. I made some songs in that days. But you know how it goes.. you meet a girl, start a relation, getting married, and before you know you are busy with a lot of things. Music? No time for that, buddy...

Until now.. I'm back. So expect a lot of retro.

At the moment I'm working on some songs coming from the old MSX demo scene in the early nineties, especially the Impact demo group. They made some very good music in that days using FAC SoundTracker and MoonTracker. Those trackers mainly work with FM-sounds and use a different way of pitching and fine tuning notes. They also use some kind of instrument brightness control, which can be altered during play. Especially that last option is not possible with a single sample, so it will be quite a challenge to convert this tunes in mod format properly.

For history lovers:
The MSX2 was a 3,5(!) MHz hobby computer. Pretty fast in those days. By combining the power of 4(!) different sound chips in different configurations (the standard PSG-sound chip, Music module, FM-PAC and SCC-chip), and of course the right music tracker, it was possible to compose music using up to 10 channels full stereo. Also the Commodore Amiga and the Atari Falcon offered good sound capabilities. A PC didn't have such music power in those days, but that did not last long.

And, in case you ask where the characters MS in MSX stand for? Guess.... yes, Micro$oft ! The MSX featured early versions of DOS and Windows. Consider MSX to be Bill Gates' playing ground in his early years. :-)

Now back to music. Stay tuned.

Songs already made:

- Dragons Legend , The Maxi Voice Mix (PC - original made by: Koto, MyVoice)
!!Featured by the crew!!
- Copyright (MSX - original made by: BDD of Impact)
- Impact195 (MSX - original made by: BDD of Impact)

- Sloom Remix (PC - original made by: Hein)
- Impact205 a.k.a. DBB's Theme 5 (MSX - original made by: BDD of Impact)

Because I am not the composing artist of the original songs, I do not own or claim the copyright. I arrange and remix them as a tribute to the original artists.
