A remix adapts the style to your own in homage of the original, and this lets the two worlds meet, or if only parts of the song were used then it would be a Reprise.
It still sounds close to the original to the point it may be mistaken as such, so this is more like an enhanced version. The original's source was even used, and the sample "comments" removed (why?).
All in all, this just feels like the original with a new drum line added on top. The overall stereo image is better, but it quickly breaks when e.g. the choir echo channels at 1:25 don't follow the master channel's portamento, which sounds kinda cringeworthy on headphones at least.
Overall, this feels like a rather meh remix and I'd rather listen to the original (Abandon)
