ModTomIT 7-5-2016

In keeping with the spirit of the comments I put in my last track, "Rocks
and Trees", I will say some things about this track. It's callled bridge
because I started working on it while riding in a car immediately after
crossing the Mackinac Bridge which connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas
of Michigan. Its a rather impressive suspension bridge, the fifth longest
in the world at the time of this writing. Interstate 75 is the road that
crosses the bridge, and it is on this interstate that the song was written.

I decided to experiment with some chromatic elements in the chord
progression, as well as make a part of the track have major chords over
some degrees of the blues scale, with each chord having an arpeggiated 9th
chord melody over it. This sounds strange, but I think I like the results
and would like to share this musical idea with the world. So basically, the
"root scale" in this part is blues, but major 9th chords are implied as
being put there and then an arpeggiated melody is played over each (mostly
imaginary) chord like in jazz. However, it sounds neither jazzy nor bluesy.
Furthermore, the entire thing is harmonized with a major 3rd after the part
is introduced. Chaos, but an ordered chaos that pleases the ears hopefully.

The only sample used in this track is a saw sample I drew myself. Lately,
my tracks have been chiptunes with relatively few samples which have been
drawn by myself using OpenMPT's sample editor, and this one is no
exception. I rather enjoy this way of making music, but to keep some
variety in timbre, unlike in the dozens of tracks which all use the same
square sample I've made in the past, each track has used new samples.
