futzaround (syrinx_-_futzaround.it)

Well, here I am back at you with another tune.  The last time I released a
tune for NOISE was roughly one year ago.  So what the hell have I been
doing for all this time?  Well, school has consumed a lot of my attention
over the last year... college life is probably about as hectic as it gets.
I wrote a bunch of tunes here and there but found that I was completely
unsatisfied with them.  My emotional inspiration/motivation seemed to be
gone for a while, and my lack of musical theory knowledge was becoming an
increasing frustration.  So, I took am introductory  music theory course,
scrapped all my samples and songs and started over again, and this is the
result.  I've tried to keep the electronic feel of the music without
writing dance or techno, and I think this piece succeeds nicely.
"Futzaround" reflects the transition I've gone through since "leaving
home" and entering college, which includes not only my expansion
of knowledge but also my social growth and changes in my outlook on life.
I have discovered that inspiration is something that you don't get from
other things external to yourself.  Rather, it is something that swells up
inside of you from the depth of your character.  Inspiration and
creativity are the ultimate explorations of ourselves, and I
think that when you hit that great mood where you feel like you could
encompass the world and live it to the fullest, you've found an
important piece of yourself--embrace it and there's no telling where it
will take you.
