This short chip tune has a pretty decent melody, but a pretty big flaw. The flaw is that there's just too much noise going on in this song. Once you hit play, the music just blares out at you, and it's not very pleasant to the ear. The composer obviously knows what he's doing with the melody, and made a very listenable tune - you might even call it catchy. Alas, the pros of this song aren't quite able to overcome the cons, and as such I can't rate this one as highly as I would have liked. As I mentioned before, this song is excessively loud, and the blame for that rests squarely on the choice of samples. Better sample selection can be made without sacrificing the style of this song - I've heard plenty of chip songs that don't grate at the ear because they use softer samples. The use of effects worked pretty well for this song, and did increase the sound that came out of this. I would have rated this song more highly had the volume been under control.
