I don't know if I have enough room to say all of the things I have jotted down about this piece. It has got to be one of the best written tracks I've heard in a long while. The intro runs a little long, but gives way to a great melody. The progression is unbelieveble, top notch work in the climax department. The artist has outdone himself with countermelodies and implied melodies, combining them into a very powerful musical experience. At several points in the music, a phrase is played, then echoed by another instrument, blending the duels into the overall excitement of the track. The changes from one stanza to the next are expertly crafted, giving the tune a great flow, and never losing sight of the overall feeling. The ending is absolutely phenomenal, wrapping everything up quickly, but bringing expert closure to an unbelievably complex and beautiful piece of music. Overall, I couldn't place the song into any one time period or geographical style. It tends to border between Irish and Italian folk, bringing into play ideas made famous by the Germans and French as well. Unbelievebly written, this track is worth lisening to. The track recieves high technical markings for the sheer amount of instruments. Nothing is too loud, nothing is too soft. The lows are in place, balanced well, as are the highs, and the countermelodies are balanced perfectly. I can imagine the time this must have taken, just to get the dynamics right. The stereo enhancements keep the track in motion at all times, and give a rich tone that might otherwise not exist.
