A nice mellow piece this. Samples are fairly good, with one or two weaker sounding ones. Very nice drum patterns, found myself grooving along to it. Keeps chaning throughout, keeping the listener interested til the end.

Interesting. Not heard much like this before, certainly not from a 4 track at least. Not a standard affair for a .mod. Very techno, no real melody to speak of, just beeps and drums and bass and whatnot. Some samples sound a bit harsh and do affect the overall timbre of the piece negatively. In theory, I don't really like this. Yet I do like it. It's a conundrum...

Yeah, not bad at all. Typical 4 track mod. Samples range from below average to good. The main problem is the low frequency snare, tends to stick out a bit. Nice use of slides and things. Well worth a listen or two.

What? Starts off quite wacky, but then it appears the artist got bored after the first pattern or so and it changes completely, and I mean completely. Then it goes on a bit and changes again. Then stops. Then there’s another pattern. Then it’s over. Then I get confused. I wonder if this was meant to be part of a computer game of some sort with all the tunes packaged as one module. The tunes themselves aren’t bad at all, and the samples sound fair to me, but they’re all far too short. Worth a listen, if just to try to work out what is going on.

May I suggest a hot wax kit?

I remember Bubble Bobble from the C64 and it wasn't this music, but that's besides the point. It’s a standard affair really. Some samples sound quite distorted, and I wasn’t prepared for that intro! Nice groove but overall nothing particularly special.

Oh dear. Um, well, firstly it's only 30 seconds long and rather poor in quality. Sounds like it's trying to be film music, but not quite managing it. The tune starts off well, but quickly it becomes awkward to listen to and you're left feeling grateful that it was indeed only 30 seconds long.

Despite the initial samples sounding a little poor in quality at first, this tune quickly turns into a nice little dance tune. Has some nice drum ‘n’ bass overtones, with some old style rave. Although potentially repetitive, the artist somehow manages for the most to keep it from getting boring, at least on the first listen. It could be improved by replacing the bass drum and clap with something a little less cheesy, and also ditching the fade out ending. Overall a rather enjoyable dreamy rave track that’s well worth a listen or two.

A fair attempt at a remix of Oxygene 4 by Jean Michel Jarre. Starts off quite funky and continues that vibe throughout. Drums are quite good, and most of the other samples seem alright, although the synthy stringy sample seems a bit poorly looped. The second melody is a bit unconfortable to listen to. Repeats everything twice then fades out. Overall not bad, but probably not worth a relisten.

Proper 80s style synth pop going on here. Fairly well put together, but I can't get past the sample quality: The drums sound decent enough for a 4 track, but some of the melody and synth parts leave a bit to be desired. Could imagine this on an old console game. And the ending is confusing and seems a bit tagged on. Overall, it's fair but nothing overly special.

This one's a bit all over the place. It starts well enough, with typical synthy strings you'd expect from a 4 track. But the drums start in a seemingly random pattern. Then it gets fair once the main beat kicks in, but this doesn't last too long and it goes back to random patterns. I've deducted a point for the horrible screeching noise towards the end. And it also seems to end at a random point. Overall, some nice ideas but poorly executed.

A good sid-chip style this one, I like it. Reminds me of playing the old games on my C64 when I were a lad. Sounds a little cluttered in places and there are a couple of clashes in there (littlerally only 2 instances though), but overall it's very pleasing to the ear and enjoyable. The melody is great and holds interest, and doesn't become repetative. Nice one!

Fairly good start, but the synth that kicks in at around 0:47 just sounds out of to me. Not so out of tune that you dry your teeth, but just enough to think "hmm something's not right". After that however at 1:45 it does pick up for a while and a nice acidy section comes in, and the lead sounds a bit better, if a little screechy. Then it sounds like it's about to end, but no, key change! And then straight away fade out, which never works in trance music unfortunately. I really wanted to give this a 6 or even a 7 as there are some really nice ideas here, and it certainly isn't repetative but the synth and the confusing ending damage it somewhat. Worth a go if like hard trance.

My initial reaction was "sort of melodic hip-hop", but I think "Pop" describes it a bit better. The structure is fairly basic, consisting mostly of pianos, drums and bass with a bit of a string or two in the background. It's got a nice melody and doesn't get boring. Doesn't sound like too many effects are used but for a piece like this it probably doesn't need it. What lets it down in my view is the quality of the piano sound (a smaple I'm guilty of overusing myself), which at times sounds a little rough on ears. That said, it's still enjoyable enough and worth a listen or two at least.

Oooh, yes please! Sort of acidy-trancey, with more than a hint of bigbeat/breakbeat/rocky-style-stuff, reminds me a bit of Orbital, that kind of thing. Caught me a little off guard when it ended so suddenly before realising it's designed to loop. Recommended download!

A nice mellow trance piece this, for the most part. A few dodgy parts however, where the lead gets a bit too high-pitched and screechy for my liking, and the stereo panning gets a little confusing in places. However, the tune changes enough throughout to hold interest and there are some lovely spacey blippy melodies dotted around. All in all, worth a listen if you're a fan of lighter trance music.

I love this track, really well tracked overall. Love the way the piece starts out sounding happy and contented, but shifts key indicating danger. Could easily be from a film or something, and could imagine this being performed by a live orchestra.
