I have to disagree with Kruser's assessment, because this song is far from forgettable unless you really dislike it stylistically.

Meanwhile I still remember this song from listening to it in 1997 and 1998 almost more than anything else I found on Aminet.

I appreciate that Kruser pointed some of the best parts of the song, even if Kruser didn't appreciate them. This MOD is *chef's kiss* and a great example of doing more with less to achieve something great.

However this song does have a huge flaw in my opinion that is much more valid than other complaints: as much as I listened to it on loop, it does not loop cleanly because it ends abruptly. Oh wellllllllll, the KLF vocal sample (from the beginning of Last Train to Trancentral) is golden and makes that abrupt end worth listening through to hear 'Okay, everybody lie down on the floor and keep calm," yet again.

This song is way trippier than I expected from the beginning; the instrumental changes are smooth and weave back together in a way that brings everything together in a way that keeps everything moving forward.

I'm always game for covers of the various Russian folktunes that were in in older versions of Tetris (Калинка, Катюша, and Коробейники; known in English as Kalinka, Katyusha, and Korobeiniki respectively, often played on the balalaika). This starts off really dramatically and gets kind-of awful at about 1:20 and doesn't really reconcile those chords until about 24 seconds later, then mixes things up too abruptly at 2:10 and never really figures itself out from there, wandering aimlessly from there in a song over five and a half minutes. There's a lot of neat ideas in this, and it needs less of them to make sense as a song, so I'm giving a 'Good Attempt' rating because without the horrific medley nature of this song, the too-abrupt changes in tempo and chords, it might be listenable as more than an object lesson in mistakes to avoid.

This is a more complex tune, but endlessly listenable and as such I keep coming back to it. I came across it looking for samples, and those didn't disappoint in this song; the 'sitar sequence' is really delightful to me especially. The 'Taj Mahal' flute samples really energize things along with the bongos.

In a lot of ways this song seems very dated, but it's still well-made and has some really interesting samples. It's definitely worth a listen or dozen.

Like Grue, I must have listened to this song so many times, when I was a fair bit younger. It's hardly perfect, but it doesn't need to be to be worth looping or putting on a cassette (for personal use, as I did then) or whatever one does now. I really like the inclusion of Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra (aka the 2001 Space Odyssey song) in the beginning, with the science-fictional grungy feel of the samples that reminds me of a Death Star.

At times it feels like this song can't settle on a style; DnB, Trance, Industrial even. That's what makes it so enjoyable. The first moments of the song lure you into thinking it's going to be bland and generic, and then the song starts switching it up, while still managing to weave all that together.

This song is a bit uh... weird? Overall it reminds me a bit of Velvet Acid Christ, though. I think that it could benefit from a bit more tonal depth, variation in the patterns, and a slower tempo in places.
