Help Support Topics Archive / Re: Fixed a song
« on: March 08, 2008, 14:18:20 »
I acutally didn't screen it tonight, I already screened it last morning or afternoon. I already suspected trouble when there were two files, so I let one of them in and rejected the other. No forum post at this time... :\

Okay, I rejected the files, please upload them again and uncheck the checkbox :)
welcome to the forums btw, elfan ;)

Of course, the console players don't always use the exact format given above. For example, a Gameboy doesn't have an S3M player for sure, but it should be very easy to convert S3M files into its proprietary format, if that answers your first question.

Tracking / Re: How do you choose samples for your song?
« on: March 01, 2008, 17:56:18 »
when i just start a fresh song, i often load some "standard" sampels into my tracker, e.g. a bass drum, snare, hi-hat, bass, etc. and I'm going to exchange them lateron if they don't fit into the track anymore. sometimes, i also have a special melody in my head which i can associate immediately to a specific sample on my hd. for this purpose, you should kinda organize your sample folder: create folders for drums, bass samples, strings, lead insturments, pads, etc.... And then browse your folders and listen to every single sample. Then decide which may fit best into your song. If it doesn't, you can still exchange it.

I don't mind someone taking my mod remixing.. as long as they give me credit in some way of form..
see, and that's what did not happen in these cases.

kingjeste, you seem to be rather inexperienced and probably a newbie to tracking, too. In the beginning, everyone is more or less open-minded and appreciates it if someone likes you and gives you feedback and all that stuff. But especially lateron, you'll recognize what stealing (in timbaland's case) music or redistributing it without permission (this case) really means to the composer.
