As a feature request:
How about more waveforms in the waveform generator?
(such as the waveforms available in the adlibtracker2 wave generator?)
maybe in the next version, what do you reckon?
-"ah gots love fo milkytacker"-
-
this wont break compatability with FT2 will it?
-
Surely not. As long as the waveforms are rendered into a sample.
-
I am for this! I would LOVE a pulse wave generator. Even though it is essentially a square wave, it'd just be nice to have anyway. And besides, increases the sound you can make in MT!
And another one, which may be hard to add. If you select a part of a waveform can you make it so you can make it straight if it isn't? I dont know if it is in MT, as I have only used it to generate waves.

yeah, holding down a button on PDA while using the stylus to create straight lines would be fresh!!! (or joining dots as in INS env editor)
-
you can create all the different square waves in the sample editor by copying and pasting:
12.5% square
25% square
50% square
75% square
87.5% square
if you use 12.5% and 87.5% together, or 75% and 25% together, they mess with each other somehow (sounds good ah reckons)...
you can also use copy/paste to create ABS sine, halfsine, EPO sine etc....as in adlibtracker2....its just a little tedious (very!!). althoug you only have to do it ocnce I guess.
-
feel free to add your suggestions for sample generators here but don't expect me to figure out the formulas ;)
-
i second this.
-
If somebody comes up with cool ideas for a sample generator and how to integrate it into the existing GUI I will happily give it a try.

Yeah, it does sound good. I've done it before, since another tracker I use is NES, and the VRC6 has 2 square channels in which you can use all of those, and I have.

If you added a simple frequency-space input window you could draw or fill in a spreadsheet for complex samples.
Also, how about 32-bit audio? I'm sure it breaks FT2 compatibility, but it's important enough that I think we should have the option to break it anyway.

I got quite addicted to Patchwork, a waveform generator in DOS creating GUS (.pat) instruments (FT2 & Milky compatible).
It's available here: http://ows.freeshell.org/indextrack.html
Something with that possibilities would be GreaT!
Integration of such would be easy:
-add a button -> create waveform
-choose what kind of waveform (F1 F2 F3 F4 choices in Patchwork)
-Give in the waveform parameters, just as in patchwork, but in a box/window within milcky
(be sure to also automatic place the loop points, the envelope part of Patchwork isn't needed, as we better do that in the instrument editor)
