Title: Questions regarding licence
Post by: summarize on February 24, 2012, 19:39:21
I would like to ask just one quick question :

Am i allowed to distribute songs that are assigned to "MOD ARCHIVE DISTRIBUTION LICENCE"(http://modarchive.org/index.php?terms-upload) within a commercial indie video game as long as i mention the original author(s)?

Thanks.

No. You will have to ask the authors for permission. The only licenses with explicit usage permission by the author that are currently available on Mod Archive are PD and CC licenses.

This is the new downside of draconian copyright. Someone wanders away, aka likely doesn't care, but you become a Terrorist if you copy something now.
