Title: Powerpacker Support
Post by: argon on October 18, 2007, 13:32:09
Especially on the AMIGA many users compressed their MODs with the popular POWERPACKER. ProTracker 2/3 with the installed powerpacker.library supported the automatic decrunch of such modules. As far as I know neither fasttracker nor any other tracker supports a direct decrunch (I'm not sure about play-only apps etc.).

So a direct support of a .pp decrunch would be great. The only other way of loading such compressed MODs is decompressing it separately, e.g. with total commander and a special plug-in. But this app isn't full compatible with amiga file namings (mod.XXX.pp), so you have to rename all these files manually in serval steps, which is awful. And sometimes you don't know, if a file is compressed when you browsing a library...

Big thanks for this fantastic app from an old ProTracker 2.3 user :)

Here are some examples of of powerpacked Amiga MODs. MilkyTracker says "error while loading / unknown format"... :-[
Here is the link to the website where you can get the plugin (including sources) for Total Commander to unpack Powerpacker files on a Windows PC:

This will be a feature of the next upcoming release. I might add support for more archive types if I have time.
