Title: Mod/scene music suggestions for driving to Revision timelapse
Post by: cgi on March 28, 2012, 00:58:07
So, I'm driving to Revision next week and the entire journey will be filmed and then sped up many times and some music dumped on it too. If possible I'd like all the music to be modules (of any format) and scene music in general. I guess I'm looking for things that are fairly upbeat, dance/trance and the likes. Not too many chip tunes and nothing too chilled out either.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated, hopefully I'll be able to cobble together enough good stuff!

Ta!

I made something upbeat for Revision 2011, so it's even kind of related: http://modarchive.org/module.php?170625

I've used this once for another video as a background music, a very upbeat dance track: http://modarchive.org/module.php?170601

Trancy breakbeats: http://modarchive.org/module.php?159594

Should be played with modplug: http://modarchive.org/module.php?168668

Maybe also something more oldskool:

Not a module, but one of last year's best demo soundtracks: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=56929

Shout if you need more.

Thanks Saga, I'll check it out in a bit. Yeah I'm unsure how long the video will be, at least an hour I imagine as any more compressed (as in time) and it'll be too fast to make much out I think. I'll see...

Ok, going through my playlist a bit more...

House-ish 64k tune: http://modarchive.org/module.php?163371

Anything by Zanoma (play with modplug): http://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_artist_modules&query=69484 - Late At Night might be a nice start.

Elwood classic: http://modarchive.org/module.php?54298

Nuskool Elwood: http://elwoodproductions.com/music/Elwood-Theme_To_Vertebra.mp3

Stuff from willbe: http://willbe.bandcamp.com/album/demoscene-worxx (Sweet home under synthetic clouds, Obsessivilisation, Wicked cabaret posse)

Maybe some oldskool breaks: http://modarchive.org/module.php?59 and http://modarchive.org/module.php?57525

Dance goodness by malmen: http://scene.org/file.php?file=/parties/2008/birdie08/mp3_ogg/malmen_vs._thiborg-blue_bay%28radio_vocal_edit%29.mp3&fileinfo
You may find more suitable stuff on his website (http://malmen.org/).

Some great suggestions there, including some all too familiar tunes! As much as I like Condom Corruption it's a bit too jarring as is Smack. immortal.mod is a bit too slow to get going but other than that they're along the lines of what I'm looking for. Smooth and trancey are the best (to a degree). I'll check out more of the tracks by artists you've linked to.

Thanks!
