Title: Render Selection to Sample
Post by: czarek on July 01, 2008, 15:56:29
I think the name for the topic is clear enough.

There is Renoise video tutorial explaining what exactly i have in mind:
youtube.com/watch?v=XSRzorB2CFw

Well, actually the maximum resolution is "render selected channels of a pattern to sample" but yeah, it exists. ;)

Wow! I was just about to request this feature so its nice to know that it already exists.
Im a little retarded and I cant find it :P. Where is it on PDA version? and where can I find it on PC version as well?

just so I can put my xm's into renoise as samples in order to use dsp effects, use vsti basslines etc. (xm's in renoise sound a bit wrong if I just load em straight in)

by the way, all the help availiable in this forum is so so appreciated!!! nice one, milkytracker is almost perfect!!!!!

You have to click disk op. and the tiny FLIP button in the corner to be able to change the saved song format to .wav. If you enable the internal file browser, this view pops up automatically every time.

ok, cool!! that looks so useful...very nice, thanks

sorry one more question...

how do you render individual tracks to wav?

(i can see the option save song as wav, but for pattern i can only see save as .xp)

When you choose to save the module as .wav, the next thing you'll see is the recording panel. This allows you to select the resampler, resolution, pattern range and what have you. You can use the range From and To values to select a specific section of the song for export.

you could mute unused channels/tracks (dont forget to check the "allow muting" box) and then chain them up in the orderlist. make a backup of your song before! this way you wont destroy your originals and have an easy way to test and, if you got more than one pattern, wont go nuts finding some hidden DXX command that you forget to remove somewhere in the deep of your arrangements, wondering why the loop just dont fit in after rendering.. =)
