Title: Trouble getting started!
Post by: guerrilladigital on September 06, 2008, 01:31:20
I'm new to Milkytracker... I recently discovered it while researching gameboy and DS tracking... I enjoy using Ableton.. so I've got some background in music production...

I'm running the latest version of Milkytracker on OSX 10.5. I think I've figured out how most of the features work... BUT... I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to assign instruments to different tracks. I would really love to get up and running and attempt to track an entire song... but without the ability to assign different instruments to different tracks, there's no real point.

If anyone has a link to a very detailed "Quickstart" type manual or youtube video, that'd be great. Unfortunately, all of the youtube videos I've seen, do not have any sort of narration, so I'm not really getting what I need from them.

I'm going to keep tinkering... perhaps I'll stumble upon the missing link.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks!

There's no assignment, any instrument can appear on any track.

I believe those are some of the ones guerrilladigital was referring to with this

Unfortunately, all of the youtube videos I've seen, do not have any sort of narration, so I'm not really getting what I need from them.
