hello,
i try to run Taketracker on windows XP (a MS-DOS tracker) and it runs (i am happy)..
but only the sound is bad... very bad... Dosbox sucks, and VDMsounds sound is bad too..
anybody knows this tracker and know how it works with windows xp??
thanks and greets

DOSBox and VDM are the only emulators that I can currently recommend. what's so bad about VDM? Is the sound quality low? Then try to edit the config file!
But I need some more inforamtion on what you think is "bad"... ;)

dosbox is too slow for the tracker, and VDMsound also produces a "scratch-like" sound...

if you want to test it, heres the tracker ^^ ;)
maybe i should buy an old pc for ms-dos (windows is to lame for ms-dos)

I remember composing in TakeTracker through DosBox and remember it working perfectly fine. May be your CPU that lack a bit of firepower or you forgot the Ctrl+F12 combo for over-clocking DosBox.
I have not yet tested running TakeTracker on my new box with Windows 98SE which I got some month ago or something, but I'll get to it and see if there's any clear difference between running it in DOS and running it in DosBox.
By the way, did you install the latest version of DosBox? Version 0.72 is out.
