MilkyTracker Support / Re: MilkyTracker does not start in Win98

Haha, sorry, I think I tried to install the WinNT/2000/XP/2003 version on my old box. Quite silly of me to ask around when I should have looked up the answer myself. Especially one that oze of FAQ all over it. ;)

MilkyTracker Support / MilkyTracker does not start in Win98

It appears that MilkyTracker refuse to start in Windows 98SE. Is this a bug or is Windows 98 just not supported?

I have never really had much money to buy christmas presents, but the few times I have bought a present (or made one for that matter, I am quite a crafty lad), I tend to buy or make them around November or late October.

This sounds good! You've gotten real good you know, Saga.

Haha, I said that with a bit of irony in my voice. It sounds great, but it is still tracne, so... Although, yes, it is great tracne. Keep at it. :)

Having the christmas theme on December and onwards to perhaps early February or late January seems like a good idea to me. So let us keep christmas where it belongs, in December.

right eagle, manufacturers tend to swap IN and OUT (so it's from the "synth's point of view" and not the "host's point of view" which is IN or OUT.

I compared with my equipment, and it makes sense now. Thanks! :)

MIDI IN/OUT labels tend to confuse me (probably because it is not correctly labeled on my keyboard, my MIDI interface or some other device I have), but I will assume OUT means output to a device (e.g. a keyboard) and IN means input from a device (e.g. the same keyboard). Assuming all this, I do believe he meant he was trying to record MIDI messages sent from a keyboard/synth/controller into a MIDI file on his computer.

With some software I have, I can play notes sent from my keyboard (e.g. when I play a few notes or turn on auto accompanient), but I cannot record them. Well, I can with a tracker. But then it is only on one selected channel and not polyphonic. Furthermore, it does not exactly allow me to save the data as a MIDI file.

And you are right, Saga. MIDI IN can't play anything. Only the recieving device can. ;)

Probably, you will need to find some software that has support for live MIDI IN recording. Google around a bit and see what you find. If you find anything, put a link here. I need a software like that too (but haven't had a chance to search for one just yet).
