Title: Server stability issues
Post by: psychodargon on December 08, 2023, 12:22:08
Hello, I often encounter this problem in front of the lobby.

"Sorry, unfortunately we are in a state of disrepair and have lost a link with our application system. Try again in a few moments. If this error appears for more than 10 minutes please begin to run around with your hair on fire :-)"

I don't know if it's a problem with TMA's servers.

That happened to me a lot last week too, but I think it's working fine now, at least for me

Welp, it started happening to me again. Sorry about that, it just happens sometimes for some reason.

Unfortunately, I'm not in charge of this site so I don't really know what's going on

Yeah, according to Ziphoid, this was due to the disk being full and there were some problems with MySQL.

I have requested an extra Virtual CPU, we used to have 8 real CPUs on the server I maintained and rented with donations, but on Scenesat they have kindly given a home, but at the moment 1 CPU is getting choked especially when the site gets the hug of death from various well meaning publications linking to us.

I am working towards also optimizing even more, the original website ran as I mentioned on a meaty hardware server in a colocated data center, the dream you could say.

We will make do but these errors are bound to happen occasionally due to the sheer increase in load these days on such minimal specs. If the donations to Scenesat keep coming in, hopefully increasing, we may be able to earn more CPUs.

I am hopeful our 2nd CPU will come on line soon.

Stay tuned as they say =)

I am very pleased to announce that scenesat has allocated an extra virtual CPU to our system, thanks in part to the donations Scenesat receives via modarchive.

I will soon publish some notes under the Scenesat donation link indicating that we may be able to expand available resources for modarchive  through donations.
