Title: deadmau5 used to be a tracker, but...
Post by: Violette on February 19, 2016, 23:44:07
Hello, fellow mod lovers. I've no idea whether this has been asked before. I've read a few of Joel's interviews where he stated that he started with module tracking. I find his music to be intriguing and wanted to try to dig up his old stuff. Anyone know what moniker he was using?

Thanks!

I don't know for certain, but chances are high that he just never released anything. Blue Stahli also confirmed on Twitter that he used several oldskool tracker in the past, but never uploaded any of his tracked works, so it could be similar case.

Thanks for replying, Saga. In retrospect, it's naive of me to assume that such a thing would be public knowledge. Thanks for such a nice reply :-[ :)

There's no harm in asking, and there are actually famous musicians whose modules can be found online.
For example, this track (http://modarchive.org/module.php?174167) is by Erez Aizen, who is better known as one half of Infected Mushroom. ;) An edited version of that track was actually later sold on CDs. ;)
