Title: Introduce yourself - the DtTvB
Post by: the DtTvB on February 12, 2007, 15:57:56
Well, it's the DtTvB!

I am 13 years old and I like to listen to music, especially Mods! I am not good at tracking, but I love to listen to it!

Wow, you are probably the youngest member on TMA! Welcome in our midst. I was about your age when I began tracking. No, I think I was 11, so it's not too late yet to give it a try :)
Don't be afraid to post your songs here. You can use the comments that you get for improving your tracking skills.

Wow, woolters started tracking at 11 years old, and the DtTvB is 13 (granted, not tracking YET)... now I feel like a late bloomer.  :(

Oh well, welcomes to the young DtTvB, the weird and quick-to-edit-his-posts Pineconed, and the ever cryptic Zero Prophet.  Don't let Eagle tell you to leave your sanity at the door; keep it with you!  It's a good thing to have.  :)

Hey! Losing your sanity is a good thing, I have! Ahehehehe! :P

Welcome to The Mod Archive Community Forums the... something, and leave your sanity at the door.

Rikimbo, while I was not tracking, I was making songs at the age of 8. But that does not count, I suppose?

I did my first tracks on the computer with 13 aswell, but that weren't MODs but a self-coded midi file format (and i had to PROGRAM those tracks, note after note...)

That's pretty much what I did, too. I used the GWBASIC sound command to make a few beeps and blops melodies.

Then around 2000 when I was 10, I figured out I could use actual samples with HyperCard to make the melodies. Still single-channel and I had no timing-method in HyperCard. Then later in 2004 I found out about ModPlug Tracker from a friend and I was stuck.

Is the history of your music creation the same, Saga?

:ot:, of course.

Well, if you consider the PC Speaker bleeps, I even started with 12 (when i wrote my first games) - but i play teh piano since i'm 6 and i did some (very very small) songs on the piano before. the first time i wrote "real" music was when i discovered modplug in 2004. if you're interested in my sucking midi tracks, you can get the program at http://sagagames.de/?programm=dmfmidi - note that you'll need the dosbox if you're running this under windows xp (incorrect timing)
