Do you remember what format it was in? (it or xm etc) It rings a bell.
-
Sorry I couldn't be sure
I'm pretty sure it was
80% says it was .mod
but the other 20% says it could be .XM
I never had any .IT
Would love to find it agian..
Thanks!

well, i would say that it wasn't a mod. as you know, the system memory was limited when most people made mods. Also, mods don't have enough capacity for such a long song (as far as i know, there can be only 64 patterns... what would be possible with a relaxing house tune :D ).... i bet it is a xm file...
-
Possibly..
it played for just over a hour, any way that someone could find it somewhere?
I really wonna listen 2 it
it goes through a few different songs.. like I'm blue double D double Di and stuff.. its a really good song, I think theres alittle bit of Night rider in the song aswell..
Thanks
Joe.

do you know when you downloaded it (approx.). Maybe Frequent can help you with his site Dustontape (http://www.dustontape.com). You maybe downloaded it at traxinspace...
-
The Traxinspace doesn't work.. the link..
That site is poorly put together and I can't seem 2 understand how it works so
Only hope is to wait for someone 2 either recognise it and give me the link or not hear it again lol..
Thanks
Joe.

hey, if you can track yourself, you maybe could give us a short sample of this song which could remind people....
BTW: The longest mod i know has approx. 32 minutes....
-
I don't have aclue how to track..
And It is definatly on for something in the region of "01:11:53"
It might not be mod, it proberly was .XM but I would just like 2 find it.
Thanks
Joe.

hm... maybe you could describe the mood, the samples, the melody, whatever so someone can figure out which song you mean..... what genre was the song? Maybe techno, easy listening or ambient?
-
Yeah definatly techno..
then it goes into Eifel 65 - Blue, Night Rider.
They are like mixed into the track at some point...
Thats all I can remember... lol
Thanks
Joe.
-
hm... that's difficult... it's definately a remix.....
maybe frequent can help you

Thats the point im making now backups of every good module i download :)
I've had some cool stuff back in time but lost a few good of it.
I can look into my archive for xm's that are 1Mb or more and playtime
with more than 1h.
Sounds relaly cool your description, but can you remeber a title? filename?
I dont need that info realy but helps me with searching :)
Greetings, frequent

It is possible to write a .mod to last over 60 mins, depending on the tempo set, lots of looping commands etc..
I have a funny feeling it is an .xm, as I remember seeing one recently and thinking  (20,000+ xm's will take time to search).

Load them all in XMPlay, and then sort them by length. Trust me, XMPlay can handle huge lists like that. XMPlay may decide to crash occasionally because it gets moody (sensitive program), but it's functionality is otherwise fine even at large lists like that. Once you've sorted them all by length, just work your way down from the longest tune and try to find it that way.

Hi @Rikimbo, yes xmplay has some sweet functions (my alltime player for all files) but i have tried yesterday to load all xm files into the library, but it crashs, i dont know why. Is there some invalid files... etc..
Im keeping on search for Joker , hope i find it :)

Hmmm really? I distinctly remember being able to load all of Mod Archive, AND an archive of about 40,000 modules that Axxy sent me a while back. That's something like 70,000 mods :O, and it only crashed after fairly long intervals of time... Hmm, though, come to think of it, you may have to load them bit by bit, since I remember XMPlay crashing a few times when I was attempting to create the playlist, but then being fine after it was set up, and it could load it again fine. Sensitive, moody program I tell you.
I'll look into that again soon I suppose, to make sure I'm not daydreaming.

Ok thanks for the tip, i coult try it :)

Hence why i don't use XMPlay, highly unstable with large lists and quite frankly, i have too many mods (especially .it) that sound sh*te in XMPlay.
Modplug doesn't have the facility and Deliplayer hates certain mods. All i seem to be doing at the moment is resetting my computer bcoz the players can't handle 50,000+ mods.
Maybe its a directory cacheing things why they all seem so unstable.

Yeah, I didn't notice that XMPlay isn't accurate for alot of mods until I noticed it butchering my own songs... Still, serves it's purpose for whatever I need it for.
-
Yes, xmPlay is bad for many modules.... and also, it crashes everytime i enqeue a file on windows 98 se..... thats very strange!
-
Sorry boys, thats not the one I'm looking for
guess its gunna be harder 2 find this than I thought....
Thanks for helping me out though! :)
Thanks.

Just found why Deliplayer crashes. It sucks up over 1gb of resources. :x
