Title: Empty "Show unread posts since last visit"-list
Post by: Relabs on March 23, 2008, 21:38:50
For sometime now(maybe a few months), every time I've logged in to modarchive forums and pressed "Show unread posts since last visit", there are no items in the list, while new post certainly has appeared since last visit, and I don't think someone has stolen my account information and somehow is able to log in always after last post before my log in. Not a major problem, but bit of annoyance anyway.

The only things i could recommend to test: log out, clear cookie and log in again.

Doesn't solve the problem.

I can understand that you would be surprised to find it something on your end, but if it was a general problem then it would have consequences for the SMF software team and not us or me as this is SMF forum software, and the "view last posts" thing has worked fine for me - at least.

It is very very likely a problem related to cookie. Also make sure your computer clock is properly set. You never know.

We could go into the deep depths of discussion about what browser you use but ultimately there is little I can do. If it was a general and reproducable bug for me too then it would have to be dealt with by the people who make SMF.

:)

Thats really too bad, folks. Sorry but its something that I cannot (and will not attempt to) fix. It's 3rd party forum software, so I'd rather wait for a fix from the vendor.

I would like to point out that you can use the link that is offered when no posts since your last visit are found. Use This link (http://modarchive.org/forums/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0")

I am going on holiday. See you in a few weeks.
