Title: Cutting notes?
Post by: LvKeulen on July 02, 2008, 15:34:37
Hello,

While using MilkyTracker, I've come across a random problem: I don't know how to cut notes aside from using the ECx command. I've seen it happen by using some sort of.. boxes (http://i27.tinypic.com/330wmcm.png) (that's an image example of what I mean) to cut notes. I don't know how to insert those things though, Modplug uses ^^, other trackers use ==, but what does this one use?
Is there any way to insert those.. box things without having to copy them all the time?

There's ECx, C00, 00, Kxx and there's the boxes, or key-offs. And actually, Kxx is a key-off too. Try searching the manual for "key-off" as the key varies between systems.

Try searching the manual for "key-off" as the key varies between systems.

I tried, and it said...
Quote from: The Manual
The key right of LShift   Enter key-off
The key below Esc   Enter key-off (Windows only)

The key right of LShift is the Z key, which enters a C-4 note.
The key below ESC is the ` and ~ key, but that one just changes the add (` = add +1, shift+` = add -1). So I guess the manual didn't help on creating key-offs without commands.

Any idea on what to do?

Search further, you're quoting MilkyTracker edit mode keys, and you seem to have the default Fasttracker II mode enabled.

Keyboards are different in different regions and not all of them have a key between left shift and Z.

I take it you're on Windows, so Caps Lock should work for you in FT2 mode. :)

The golden tip. Thanks!
