Title: Music for a video I'm creating
Post by: Dave McCool on April 26, 2006, 11:49:42
I am making a video for a town (City) that I created (Computer Generated) The setting is night in a town like New York in the rain. Its about the city at night. the city is called "DX District" and it's in the Rocky Mountains. This is a project of mine that I will make some videos and post them on internet.

What I need is some music. I need some ambient Piano style music to "Blend in" with the settings.  What I want is music with a fgood drum beat and piano, and if possible acoustic guitar riff. I would make the music myself, But I'm not so good with tracking yet.

Anyone got music? This video is free and non commercial so I would like music for free as well. I will give credit where necessary and so on.

If you do not get an answer from someone here on the forums, try the IRC channel on ModArchive. There is a Java Applet so you do not have to download e.g. mIRC to use it.

Good luck!

Well... I might have something *close* to what you're looking for...

http://omega.kicks-ass.org/rikimbo/Files/Rikimbo_-_X_Prime.mp3

This is just a rough draft, as I haven't added panning effects to the strings, fixed up the piano and such yet, and the tracked version is a mess right now... I'll be up in the newdir as soon as I get around to fixing all of that.

But anyhow, this is just an ambient piece that features a minimalistic babyharp piano lead.  No accoustic guitar though...  It's kind of similar to xerxes' style of music, if you know of that artist.

Anyhow, try it on for size.  If it doesn't suit your needs, then that's fine.

If this is what you want, then I could always edit it for length, add rain effects, whatever.  Heck, even change the title if you like, as it's not officially 'released' or 'finished' yet.

EDIT: Hey, wait a minute -- Rocky Mountains?  Are you Canadian? :)

I'll listen to that and tell you what I think. And No I'm not a canadian.

I am  making a short video story that is set like this:

The president has had enough of Iraq. He wants to go to Egypt and deploy a weapon "Necular Missile" and destroy Iraq completly. Binladen ad (he has been blown up in a raid) Saddam has been executed and the president is fed up with the fighting Iraq. The part I'm working on is set in the Rocky Mountains in a place called "DXDistrict" (not real) and this "agent" (Sort of like james bond, only realistic) has to go there as there is one man that can help him.

Will the president make Iraq destroyed OR get stopped by our agent?

I thought of bringing the CIA into it, but gone to far with that.

I'll listen to the music and If its good I will let you know. (note: I may need the tracker file)

I'll do that Here...  I actually created the movie with a "hacked" Unreal ED 2. It took me around 2 years to do it, but managed to get it working and created everything in that and used Adobe Premier for the rest and Hypercam...
