Ok, I've played around a couple of days now and have finally managed to produce
a little composition. This is my first song using milkytracker, so please be nice.
Feedback is appreciated!

A very nice firstie! Tell us, what trackers or other soft/hardware have you used before, and for how long?
This has a nice introish feel to it, in the demoscene sense. Takes me back to the DOS days and I can just picture a short intro with bright colors built around the tune.

Wow, thank you so much raina :)
I've mainly been using Cubase and FL studio for about 4-5 years now, but
never used trackers before. Since I love chiptunes, I decided to give it a try. And
after testing some diffrent trackers, I decided to go for MilkyTracker.
Im also very intressed in synthesizers and electronics, but never owned a
atari or commodore (wasn't born then :().

Impressive work. How long did it take you to find out about the effects and the workflow?
-
Thanks pailes! :)
Well, it took me about 2 days to figure out how stuff worked. When I got the basics,
I read the effect-part in the manual and learned the most common effects.
I've also downloaded some mods to see how other have done it.
Still got a lot to learn!

Wow, that was really impressive for a first tracked song.
Sounded like some classic GameGear music to me. Really hope to hear more stuff from you.

Thanks null1024, nice to hear you liked it :)

Damn this is nice! imma puttin this one in my xm->mp3 converted tracking music list so its in my media library :P

You could also consider using a player or plugin that handles module files properly. No need to waste space on MP3s which are lossy anyway, that way. :)
-
is there an xm player plugin for Windows Media player then? (looks at the search button on this page and starts lookin)
-
Don't know of any, no.

VLC plays XM OOTB fine.
-
I could have said "use XMPlay" or "use in_bass for WinAmp" but I know some people like using WMP so I left it at that. Hmm. Never tried playing modules with VLC. Any idea on which replay it's based?

Take my comment where it comes from (that is, from a person who found out about MilkyTracker (or trackers at all) today), but that was a really awesome first song! Love it.

Well done, djodin.
The bassline reminds me of something i know. maybe it's the amiga game "Leavin' Teramis" or other game, that i don't remember now musically :o
Greetings,
