Title: Do you own an Ensoniq Synth? Pleas read!
Post by: Parduz on September 24, 2008, 23:58:36
Hi.
I'm an italian keyboard player, and i've found a link to this site in the readme of a zip file containing Ensoniq SQ1 samples (well, the right URL was different, i don't know if it is the same site: here the original text:
Thank you for downloading this file from The Mod Archive. Please visit http://www.modarchive.com for the ultimate resource in mods and samples!).

Anyway, i'm hunting for someone that still own a working Ensoniq SQ1 (or related).
Mine is dead, and i'm trying to keep it alive in the modern digital world.
So, working in an electronic lab, i've dumped the ROM samples (the ones used as "base" for the synthesis), and now i want to build a soundfont and maybe a VST.
BUT
being my synth dead, the first step is to identify the samples, so then with a librarian i can load the sysex files of my synth and "emulate" the patches in a soundfont.

So, if someone of you have that synth, i will like to send the samples to him and have back the original sample names (somewhat like "sample 1 = piano 1, sample 2 = piano variation, etc...").

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, can't help you personally, but this sounds like an interesting project. I think you should also post this on the Renoise forum at http://www.renoise.com/board/

Unfortunately, the only thing I own from Ensoniq is the Soundscape Elite sound card :(

that file you've downloaded must be from the Waveworld collection. Unfortunately, there's nothing like a credits page who made which samples (as far as I know).
