Title: Beatslicing in Milky Tracker
Post by: usrfriendly on October 03, 2008, 03:49:21
When I came here to post this thread about beatslicing, i realized what i did wrong.  I'll detail all of the steps to spare beginners this misery.

Step 1:  find a drum loop (or use the one attached to this post)
Step 2:  under the samples directory, load the drum loop
Step 3:  Select the whole loop, and increase the volume 500%
Step 4:  Simply, select each drum sound in the loop independently, then cut and paste into each instrument channel.

i'll go into specifics later, it's midnight here. happy tracking!

Even if it's solved already, it might help others as well.

When you want to toy with a loop sample while retaining it intact, the 9xx command can be used trigger a sample in different positions. Its usefulness is a little limited when it comes to extremely high or low quality samples but otherwise, that's what I use.

completely missed the sample offset.  didn't read the documentation thoroughly.
