Title: milkytracker PDA can act as midi slave?
Post by: luke on April 07, 2009, 18:34:24
YO! was just wondering if it is possible in any way to make milkytracker running on a PDA act as a midi slave to another device such as MPC500/Computer so that they could play together perfectly in time.

not sure what kind of midi connection i need for a PDA or how to set one up.
my PDA is hp iPAQ 214 series.

milkytracker is GGGGGGRRRRRREAAAAAAT!!!!!!!! :o

I don't know of a way of making a PDA MIDI connection (not saying there wasn't one), I'm not sure if the PDA version even has any MIDI code but I can tell you MilkyTracker's MIDI support only covers note input. You can't trigger playback or sync over MIDI.

As I know , Milky do not support midi Sync function. >:(

in the manual you can read:
Code: [Select]
"MilkyTracker supports basic MIDI input,
which means you can use your MIDI device to feed notes into MilkyTracker.
Enabling MIDI input varies a little from platform to platform -
here's how to do it on…

Windows:  Select Preferences from the system menu (top left corner of the window)
OSX: Select Preferences from the MilkyTracker menu or press Command-,
Linux: Enabled by default if available on the system. See the Linux readme for details.
"

even if you are able to link your PDA to your gear via MIDI, you 'll can not sync milky to the tempo. Just send some basic NOTE on NOTE off , and maybe velocity. Nothing more.

my advice : get a DS and nitrotracker witch have sync option.

I can confirm velocity sensitivity. :)
