Title: Interocitor: my new Mod Player for iPhone/iPod Touch
Post by: BleuLlama on February 10, 2010, 22:23:14
Hi all!

Just wanted to announce and show off my new mod player for the iPhone and iPod Touch; "Interocitor"

http://itunes.com/app/interocitor (http://itunes.com/app/interocitor)

It is based on the MikMod engine, so it can play most of the formats out there.  I spent a lot of time getting some fun visualizers in there, as well as a web server and web browser to retrieve and share your mods with others.  It even has running llamas!

Here's a video of it in action:

and some screenshots:

Looks great, don't have an iPhone though, still congratulations. ;D

Although, Mikmod & accuracy, well... nuff said.

It's accurate enough with most of the files. It gets some phasing wrong on XMs, sometimes.

But for classic MOD and S3M, it's about as spot on as you can get external to the original trackers.

If you have any specific issues that mikmod is known to fail on, I'd welcome hearing about them.  I can always poke my head into the mikmod side of things and attempt to make it more accurate.

Well, neither have I an iPhone, nor do I have a good opinion of MikMod (it's easy to find tunes that don't play correctly with it)... but yeah...

Hi,

This seems quite interesting, but because of that file selector, are you aware that your app might be rejected by Apple?

Well, apparently it already made its way through Apple's screening process..

I'm considering getting an IPhone. Yeah yeah, turning to the dark side of the force...but it's so shiny :o

So, does anyone have an opinion after using this app for a bit? Is it actually still up to date? Might be nice to be flexible with the mods, but if it doesn't support a lot of formats, well...
