Title: How they used to produce a sample once a time?

and also, how they do these days?
Which tecniques are used to produces a sample, and how did the old amiga mod writers?
Just two questions who make me much curious about module stuffs.. :)

For me and probably quite a few, Initially, home made samplers for the Amiga parallel port (I have one still), then came the commercial parallel port sampler carts like Stereo Master and Megalosound Sampler.

These days, sampling a sound effect or instrument is just plugging a sound source into your PC/mac soundcard and hitting record, or loading from commercial sample libraries etc.
