Title: speed command question

Listening some mod, I found some speed techiques, for example, in a pattern i found values like this:

|   .....F06
|   .....F05
|   .....F06
|   .....F05
|   .....F06

and so on...
what is the real purpose of doing something like this ?

it makes a jig, shuffle.

That, and if you want an "in-between tempo", you can get it using this method (in this tempo, you'd get a speed value of 5.5). It will produce a light or not so light swing, so the second method only works for speed values that are very close ot each other (3/4 and 5/6 are common). 4/8 and 5/7 are often often used for shuffle.

the speed command changing the speed is mainly a side effect of the speed command changing the ticks per row. so it can (and sometimes is) used to create some fine effects with apperigo command (0xx).

example

F06|c-1 037
F05|c-1 037
F06|c-1 037
F05|c-1 037

at F06 the apperigo is run twice (c, d#, g, c, d#, g)
at the lines with F05 the apperigo is run 1 5/6 times (c, d#, g, c, d#)

the effect of this is the main cause for that 'jiggy shuffle sound' in many modules that use this technique.
