Title: Samples sound different on FT2 and Milkytracker
Post by: pulselooper on December 01, 2010, 02:53:44
Hi folks,

I use FT2 on an old PC, but sometimes I wanna make some tune on my macintosh when the PC isn´t avaliable. So, I installed Milkytracker on the mac. But I realized that the .xm songs I make on Milky sounds different on FT2. Looks like the samples get a little detuned and the bpm is a bit slower... I think it must be some frequency problem but I really don´t know what it is. Thanks for your time and your help!

A blind guess:
Sometimes other programs can cause a sample rate change OR MilkyTracker requests a certain sample rate from CoreAudio and CoreAudio does a fallback to another sample rate without letting MilkyTracker know about it.

I.e. you select 48khz audio and CoreAudio drops to 44.1khz or vice versa.
I also noticed that iTunes can change the system sample rate during playback.
