Title: Music made in Milkytracker. Can it be legally used on games being sold?
Post by: mikachu on May 08, 2012, 13:46:07
hello. Next year me and some friends are starting an indie-company. We would of course hope to sell the game we try to make, and games usually need music.

How is it with Milkytracker? I'm quite new to all this stuff, so I hope it isn't a stupid question.

Thanks in advance. :p

Everything you create in MilkyTracker is yours, even to sell. But if you're using somebody else's work (samples, instruments, synthesizers, patterns, tracks, composition) as basis for yours, make sure to clear any licensing and/or conscience issues.

To keep it simple, use software you bought or is free, not warez. Use works that are in the public domain or are creative commons licensed (and respect the license terms) or get in contact with the author for permission.
