Title: ShortCut in Mac OS X Lion
Post by: BiTL on September 12, 2012, 22:08:47
Hi, guys. I recently started using a Mac. The question came up with MilkyTracker under Mac OS X Lion.

How do I get to work with MilkyTracker with FT2-like combinations of keys? In Ubuntu, I had to disable the system shortkey "Alt F4", and enjoy with "edit-mode MilkyTracker" (because in Ubuntu not bind note-off for Caps Lock).

In Mac OS worse. Not work a combination of Shit-F3, Shift-F4, Shift-F5, Alt-F3, Alt-F5, Ctrl-Ctrl-F3, etc ... Some simply intersect with some system combinations, while others simply do not work as they should.

Is there a way to get to work with MilkyTracker with familiar to me shortkeys?

How about if you simultaneously press the Fn key with those combinations? Standard function keys take a back seat to Macs' system keys by default. You should be able to reverse this behavior in System Preferences so that to control screen brightness, sound volume etc, you need to press the Fn key and without it the function keys are just function keys. At least you can do that in previous versions of OS X.

Then there's FunctionFlip (http://kevingessner.com/software/functionflip/) which lets you set this mode per-key which in theory is quite handy. (I use F1-F9 as regular function keys but the volume controlling F10-F12 flipped.) In practice the program isn't flawless and sometimes the keystrokes go through the opposite way or [any key] gets translated to an F key press, etc. Worth slightly more than the trouble I'd say.

I use PC-keyboard (102-key), I do not have the key "fn"

for some reason, the program does not work on my mac. Perhaps, because the PC-keyboard.

How about this bit?

Oh and about the NoteOff in Ubuntu, how about 1 or the key below Esc?
