Title: Need Someone Good at Mod Editing
Post by: corlenbelspar on July 27, 2013, 10:03:49
The project is quite simple at first glance: Take a bunch of impulse tracker music and improve the instrument quality and possibly the composition while retaining a small file size.

We are working on a re-imagining of the game Gemfire/Super Royal Blood for anyone who is familiar with that game.  I painstakingly converted the SPC music of the game to impulse tracker and corrected as many errors as I could.  The problem is, we're not that great at making instruments sound good in module music so we could use someone to do that, it would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe you should give some more details. You are saying you converted some SPC songs, so those files should already be relatively small (since the SNES sound chip only has 64kb of RAM) - or do you want your files to sound better than those SPC conversion but still be small?

Yeah we were wanting the songs to sound better instrument-wise and still retain as small a file size as possible.  This is because we were improving the graphics so the instrumentation should be improved as well.  If you want, I could link to all the songs and show some screenshots of the game thus far.  The strategy in winter theme is the only one that came up larger than the SNES would allow at 66kb.  But they don't have to retain that small a file size as long as they sound better.
