Hello i'm just starting to make music on milky tracker. i was wondering how long does it take to get good at it. there just seems like there is to much to it.

Welcome! It can take anything from a few weeks to a year or even more, depending on how eager you are, how easy you are with the tracking environment and your existing skillset when it comes to making music. Some people just never get better, others can give you a tracked masterpiece after half a year... it all depends on you.

thank you it nice to know. i am having hard time tracking. i'm use to play guitar and bass but doing on computer i never done. so this new environment for me hopefully i get atleast little decent. How do i find more instruments to use on this than the ones they gave me?

There are many ways, if you can't make your own, you can take samples from other modules (but give credits where credits are due), or download the large waveworld (http://forums.modarchive.org/index.php?topic=2406.0) sample pack. Just browse the Sampling sub forum here for more inspiration on samples.
